He started by introducing what his job was. ?We?re the Johnny Cash of the con scene.? <groan>. Next up, Lance went through the current release schedule, especially mentioned Kiddy Grade Vol 4 which contains episode 11, which throws a wrench into the series. DB GT Lost Series DVDs will contain autographed cards by one of 3 voice actors, and some of them will have ones signed by all 3..
Yu Yu Hakusho Tournament DVD Boxset 2 - Oct 19
In August, Eclaire and Lumiere figures will be coming out, and they are really nice looking. They remind me of garage kits that come painted. Attention to detail is amazing. This will be available only on Funimation?s website.
Funimation announced Gunslinger Girl, and they are also aiming for the game rights and are waiting on them for a date
Spiral will be coming out on November 8.
Funimation also then announced an uncut Shaman King release, which they got through 4Kids. Oct 19. There will be a dub and sub, though the dub will still have the Saturday morning names.
Next up, Funimation then even announced an uncut Yu-gi-oh release. It?s still the first season that 4Kids came out, and it also comes out on Oct 19. Two volumes will be coming out for both Shaman King and Yu-gi-oh, and pricing may be estimated at around 3 episodes at $19.98. The release schedule is dependant on sales.
Sakura Taisen was delayed due to Sega wanting to approve a voice actress, and there was a wait on approvals. Sumire will be coming out on Oct 26. |
I'm sort of surprised that 4Kids is allowing Funimation to release uncut versions of Shaman King and Yu-Gi-Oh! (though I believe they did the same thing for Ultimate Muscle). But I'm glad that Gunslinger Girl is licensed.

Yaay! Un-cut Yu-Gi-Oh! Now all the anime "fanboys" at my school can see the "nudity" and "hardKore violence" that was never there in the first place! Hurrah!!!

Is the uncut Shaman King really that different then the cut one? Remember, it was a children's anime in Japan too.

Hmm. I never could get used to Yuugi-Oh (in English.) But if it'll be uncut, I may give it a watch now...
I also am curious about Gunslinger Girl. Can I get some opinions? All I know of it what's in the Encylopedia and a few comments I've read in the past.
It's done by Madhouse, so that's good enough news. And, it's only 13 episodes, which means it'll be easier to collect all of the DVDs.
I hope FUNi can put it (GG) on 3-4 DVDs. I say 3 because I just noticed my .hack//LEGEND OF THE TWILIGHT is going to be 3, eventhough it's a 12 ep. series.

it's definitely something you would never think funimation would pick up: brainwashed little girls shooting people to death with powered weapons. very depressing show.
how odd they would suddenly go this direction.

I don't think it's that surprising. Considering they also got Blue Gender, a show involving the gruesome deaths of several people and casual sex "just to know I'm still alive." Pretty pessimistic in itself, really.

An uncut version of Yu-Gi-Oh would be nice. I've been looking forward to that for a long time. I've just recently got note that Funimation was liscenced to dub One Piece. I hope they are dubbing it. I really love One Piece!

I thought yu-gi-oh uncut would never be shown here in the us because of how it's popular with little kids. But then again, the last company that had DBZ edited a lot out, but funimation made uncut versions on dvd even though it was still popular with kids. By the way, didn't ADV do something similar, releasing bothe cut and uncut of an anime?
