I just started getting into reading Mangas ( berserk vol 1 and 2 got me hooked) but anyway i got a couple of questions for ya manga experts.
1. Are all Mangas in black and white??? are any of them in color?? 2.Are Mangas different from Japanese comics or are they the same sh*t?? 3. Are mangas that based on Anime are all sequels or whatever, ex: berserk ( I hope there all aren't, because then i'll be a broke mofo) 4. I hear that people can read whole series online, are there places you can download them? Do you got to pay for them? 5. Get at me |

1. I would say 99.9% are in black and white. Ghost In the Shell is in Color...and probably some others, but it's expensive to print in color. You'll get the first couple pages in color, but the rest in black and white. 2. Manga = Japanese Comic. They are usually translated true to the original. 3.More times than not the anime are based off the manga, so no...they're usually not sequals to the anime. In fact, manga usually go more in-depth than the anime, so it's worth your investment for a series you really like. 4. Scanlations exist. Don't ask where to get them. 5. Not worth it. Manga are almost always in black & white. Some special issues may be in colour, or some chapters may have the opening pages in colour, but they're black & white for the most part.
Manga are Japanese comics. Synonymous entities.
It differs. Most of the time, anime are adapted from pre-existing manga series (Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin, X, Dragon Ball, Trigun, Hellsing, etc.). Sometimes a manga will be based on an anime (Cowboy Bebop), but it's usually the other way around. Sometimes anime will have manga sequels & vice versa, but they're usually adaptations of each other. The Berserk! anime is based on a single story arc of the manga, I hear.
Scanlations (scanned manga pages) are like fansubs; if it's a licensed series they're illegal, and if it's unlicensed they're...well...still illegal but the companies will typically turn a blind eye. Either way, don't ask for them here, as it's one of the quickest ways to get a thread shut down. |

There mangas that the pictures are taken from the tv show. 2. Mangas are Japanese comics. Just not in Japanese (if your in America, I am) 3The mangas came first. The anime's are based on them, thats why there almost always different. Especially bacause they skip things. 4I have no idea, I buy mine. 5. ....what? |

Not always. Sometimes this is true, but there are cases where the anime comes out first. There are also cases where the manga is actually missing a lot and the anime has a lot of better scenes added in. |

rarely are they in color in fact only a portion (1/4 or 1/2) give you some color at the begining. Also not all manga lead to anime some lead to live action movies or nothing at all or sometimes the anime comes first! Manga scans can be online in scanlation form I recomend only getting them when not liscensed in your area or import to. Some manga is available in color like ghost in shell and some inuyasha books etc. also some digital manga is avialable at digital manga site and such. Also some magazines out their to enjoy and fan made manga to
