Queen's Blade -Rurō no Senshi- (TV)
Here it is, the most controversial or even "guilty pleasure" title of this season. First episode was as entertaining as it's possible for the series of this kind. Tell us why you like or hate Queen's Blade. This will most likely remain my "guilty pleasure" for this season, assuming plot doesn't stray from what is obvious to come

It really bothers me that anime producers put out cheap, tawdry fare like Queen's Blade with the thought that I'll hand over my hard-earned cash just because they've stuffed the series with large-breasted female characters.
... It bothers me that they are totally right, I mean. |

Well, I could barely make it through one episode, and I'm a large fan of fanservice series like Ikki Tousen and Tenjho Tenge. Something is just off-putting about it. Unlike those, it isn't sexy at all or even humorous for that matter, it's just ugly and not entertaining. I think I'll pass, sorry.

If you're a fanservice anime watcher, then you would to an extent want to watch it. Or if you're just trying to get in a good laugh, this is definitely a series to go for. To me it's no different than watching overdone fanservice series such as Ikki Tosen and Aika R-16. And then there is a whole bunch of other titles, but really, that's what it comes down to.

I love Queen's Blade because it's exactly what I want, tits, goo-girls, tits, hot mothers with possible shota complexes, more tits, urination, pointless fighting where clothing is ripped off exposing said tits, instead of just to the point where it doesn't show anything ala Ikkitousen. It's not even a guilty pleasure, this was my most anticipated show this season because I knew exactly what it would entail, and I am not disappointed.
If people have problems with it, simple, don't watch it, it's not made for you. Also, this isn't a series out of nowhere, it has a well-established fanbase with the art books, manga, and various doujinshi. That's why I even cared about this in the first place, because I adore most of the character designs. |

Yes. The amount of existing 'tertiary material' will suffice for this to be very well received by some. Perhaps not for the plot, but for occasional isolated moments of bounty. Moments that make for a good .gif animation. |

I saw the first episode in fansubs, and it was hilarious. I don't know which part made me laugh more -- the over-the-top boobfoolery, or the awful, awful subs. If nothing else, some of the translation errors in the sub I saw belong in the Fansub Hall of Shame.
I went back and watched it raw, without the subs to distract me, and I can't say it was any improvement. This isn't a "guilty pleasure", it's just plain bad... but it's so bad it's funny, and that's enough to warrant watching it, on a slow night. - abunai |

I mentioned the show already to my friend Jason, who's house our group parties at most times, and he's downloading it now. Drunken boobfoolery will be the topic of the night I am sure. The difference between this and shows like Ikki Tousen or Tenjho Tenge is those shows actually try to have a plot. A real one mind you. Queen's Blade is like taking Eiken and trying to make a serious show out of it. They should have just gone the Eiken route and just made it an over the top comedy. At least then the horribleness of the show would be justified as it was what they were going for. |

The thing I see with it though is that there are no central characters in that series, nor does it look like they'll try and have any central male characters. Of course the guards were guys, but there wasn't much to it to add anything worth mentioning about guy characters. So kind of Koi Hime Musou in a way.

I just want to see how batshit crazy this series can get. I mean I want them to go Beyond the Impossible with this series, and do more crazy things that make exploding boobs look tame. |

Take a look at this screencap of credits (don't worry, it's completely SFW). In addition to chief animation director Rin-Sin, two key animators' names were easily identifiable: Yasuomi Umetsu (#1, top left) and Satoshi Urushihara (#2, top center). With these three names, anyone who has enjoyed animated pornography should watch QB, even if the latter does not have any pumping action; as long as they continue working on this series, no matter how ridiculous the story is, at least the

That .gif is older than the sun. I myself am waiting for the same treatment to be done to this show. I don't mean to say this pejoratively, but it's the sort of production to which a repeating animation lasting a couple of seconds can do full justice. |
