Fremantle is releasing Mysterious Cities Of Gold in the UK in March - http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=749518
First time it's been available on DVD or video in English as far as I know (though I remember it fondly from watching it on TV back in the 1980s). |

From the Anime Forum. I don't speak French though, so I'm just taking this person's word for it.

It seems I cannot add the UK licensor/distributor for Mushushu (live action) because it doesn't have an American one yet. It was released here a year ago by Revolver Entertainment.

Probably because "licensed by" is a task that only can be added by staff. Maybe it's time to have locales, not just languages... Also, your typo is kind of funny. |

I'll admit I laughed.. it wasn't late but I definitely was tired (i.e. I've still not actually seen the end of said film as I've twice had to turn it off due to me falling asleep)
I know I can't add a licensor (which is why this thread exists) but if it had been licensed in America I could just add Revolver as UK distributor (I'm getting more and more confused these days over what constitutes a licensor as opposed to a distributor.. e.g. when FUNimation switched distributors from MVM to Revelation a number of titles I thought were licensed by MVM were actually just distributed by them). |

Siren Visual has licensed:
Irabu's Office (in the encyclopedia as Kuchu Buranko) The Tatami Galaxy House of Five Leaves I argue these are licenses and not distribution rights since: a) Irabu's Office has no English language license (well not according to the encyclopedia) and; b) Based on ANN's article here:
Feel free to debate this as you see fit, I'm no licensing expert. All I know is we're getting stuff on DVD that doesn't appear to be coming elsewhere yet, huzzah! Source: press release |

I've queried this in the past since while some UK releases a distributed on behalf of a US company, others are straight licenses direct from Japan (although it is often really difficult to work out which is which).
The outcome, basically, was that only staff can enter "licensed by" since it is a special term that marks the series as licensed in the US, making the title bold on the main lists. |

Hmm, but it's technically wrong to say a series is 'distributed by' when it's actually licensed by them directly. I'll leave it open to the staff anyway, not like it's especially important.
