That's good. So we won't have to wait to long and so we won't be so far behind all the time. If it gets an anime maybe the release will be quick too.

It hasn't been printed yet and Viz already licensed it? Man... that's fast...

Wow.

I was expecting Viz to publish this un-named work since Viz has published all her other works (I think), but I wasn't expecting them to license it this fast.

Good job, Viz. I'm looking forward to this release.

pretty much my reaction, and the whole first volume will be out in Japan by the end of the year too, eh?
I do wish for Viz to translate as they come out so we don't have to wait more than a month after the Japanese release of the same volume. We usually seem to be waiting at least two years, not counting them picking up old series when they first started, obviously. But seeing as how Viz has already liscened it, that hurdle has already been cleared.

This is the sort of thing that needs to happen more often so people (hopefully) will be less inclined to read scans. Good move Viz, though please don't butcher it...

A simultaneous release would be progress.

Wow, a general release date for an adaption of a series that does not actually exist yet.

Viz, you are ACTUALLY giving people less reason to gripe about you! Seriously, outstanding progress.

Smart move Viz Media, I just wonder what the series will be? I really enjoyed Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha, so I hope it's a shonen series. Compared to Del Ray, Viz Media is actually curbing illegal scan reading/downloading.

It will be in Shounen Sunday, so it will be Shounen.

Way back in the dark ages, Viz aimed for a simultaneous Japan/US release of Inuyasha. Now they're literally twenty volumes behind the Japanese release. I know it won't be that bad now (for the first several years of the IY release, we were getting just two volumes a year), but hopefully they'll be better at keeping up. Well... and hopefully the translation will be better and less... flipped.

I think that if they even go with just a tri-monthly release schedule (four times a year, which is, I believe, what Inuyasha is on right now), they won't fall that far behind.

That's great news but I would be even happier if Viz released it simultaneously with Urusei Yatsura.

Proman: If that manga hadn't shown up, Viz might actually publish UY or even Rumik World. Guess we'll have to wait another 20 years for that to happen. It's a conspiracy, I tells ya. Mad

Agreed

So who else wants to bet its going to a romantic comedy/action series about two teenagers who both have feelings for each other but can't figure out how to say it for 10-12 years. Rolling Eyes

Honestly, no thank you. I don't want to wait 5 years for the first "I love you-what did you say?-nothing", 10 years for a kiss that gets denied later, another bad guy who would make a phoenix boil with envy, and 20 years for a conclusion.

I am looking forward to seeing her latest work. Ms. Takahashi has an exhibition of her work in Ginza last summer.
