OK, this is another show that piqued my interest. I was wondering, then, since it's unknown when the FUNi reissue will come about, and since it seems to be at a reasonable price right now, which version to get.

The Murata version, it seems, is about $90, which is what my RahXephon and FMP thinpaks ran me. Not an awful price, ESPECIALLY for something OOP. For 7 bucks more, a seller has the version with the collectibles and the art box.

Is it worth the extra 7, or should I go for the space saver version?

The nicer version comes with a nice artbox, a stiff mousepad, and an Alvis figure. I would decide based on whether on not the artbox is worth it for you.

Pics of the artbox:

Apologies for the double post, but I had another question -- I had to cancel my order (the seller seems to be waiting for my response so hopefully they'll refund my money) because the set only had six DVDs, not the seven it's supposed to. Why do a lot of the listings right now say there are only six DVDs included? Is this a manufacturing error, or some weird thing that only happened with Last Exile?

Nope, it should be 7 DVDs. That is what it says on Amazon. If Amazon says 7, it means 7. Sometimes the re-seller might not have the whole set. Make sure you buy from a reputable seller, and also make sure it is not the "international" version, cause those tend to be bootlegs.

Is there an upcoming re-release? Cause I have not heard of one.

Meh I'll just wait for the FUNi reissue at this rate...I don't NEED a fancy figurine or mouse pad.

But then you'd have to rebuy the vol.1 + artbox if you want the shiny artbox. That's what I wound up doing after impulse-buying the vol 1-3 bundle.

An added bonus for buying volume 7 from rightstuf (or at least when I got a year ago,) was a set of 13 rather nice postcards featuring some of the insert art from the DVDs and probably also from the Range Murata set.
