In the long run, I'm really confused and frustrated as I've no idea what ver. of the FMA DVDs I ought to opt. for purchasing.
There have been a lot of different releases for it thus far: the single DVDs which I'd started to buy when the series was firsting coming out, but then the thinpak sets started coming out and I thought, "oh woah! That's a great way to save money and get all the series in a few installments," so I opted to sell off the few single DVDs I'd gotten or to donate them to my library, and thereafter went about acquiring the first 2 thinpak sets. But NOW there are the releases of the "complete season collections" DVDs, so I don't know now if I'd wasted my money getting the thinpak sets when they may not be finished since these new complete season sets are coming out. Can anyone help to clear up my confusion and perhaps give some guidance on what direction I should take with completing my collection? I dearly love FMA (as evident by my avatar, for one thing) and I want to get all the anime that's been licensed in the US so far, but this has become a real problem for me. I don't have many oppurtunities, financially, to buy DVDs so I have to be careful, per se, in what I get. |

The half-season sets? Those are digipaks. I'd continue with the half-season sets. The complete season sets that are getting released now are cramming 6 discs into 4, but they include the guides. The half-season sets have already been completely released. http://www.amazon.com/Fullmetal-Alchemist-Season-Part-Box/dp/B000NQRV80/ref=/ref=cm_cd_t_sims_t http://www.amazon.com/Fullmetal-Alchemist-Season-Part-Box/dp/B000WE5I1U/ref=pd_bxgy_d_text_b http://www.amazon.com/Fullmetal-Alchemist-Season-Part-Box/dp/B000XXWKGG/ref=pd_bxgy_d_text_c http://www.amazon.com/Fullmetal-Alchemist-Season-Part-Box/dp/B00127R2WY/ref=pd_bxgy_d_text_b |

Well that´s bussiness. If a series is popular it gets many re-releases.
![]() I would say it doesn't matter which one you take since the prize of two thinpacks together are about the same prize as the season 1 boxset. So take whichever you like, you could try selling the single DVDs ![]() I would take the thinpacks since they are already released. |

^ Yeah. And the discs in those are exactly the same as the single releases. I don't know what they had to drop or mess around with in the re-burns of the complete collection they're putting out right now.
FMA's one of the few series I was so crazy about that I never waited for a cheaper alternative for getting it. I bought the singles and it ran me up quite a bit! ![]() |

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I own the first half-season set (and the movie), but before I could buy any further, FUNi released those new half-series packs. I think I'm going to stick with the half-season sets personally, if for nothing else than the sake of uniformity. Trigun can hold down the fort as the only real mishmash I own (have three of the Remix singles and the second collector's tin).
