Maria-sama ga Miteru - Season 4
Oh yeah the popularity of this is absolutely, downright insane among the Japanese male otaku. I wonder how many ANN users have kept up with the series franchise. I, unfortunately, haven't yet, but I did check out the OP and ED sequences. I was a bit surprised both used rather upbeat music. Though I have to laugh at the OP sequence where spoiler[Yumi picked up a pen, made quick slashes on the table, and started traveling through a PORTAL!   ]
The ED sequence on the other hand....well.....yeah!

Whatched few first minutes and the only comment that comes to mind would be:

I've been looking forward to seeing MariMite 4 for over a year now. Plan on trying to watch it later today after I get done scanning my computer. As for the ED sequence, they're treating it like the ending sequence to the third season which didn't really go with the mood of the series. So, I'll have to see for myself how I like it.

I have just started of with the first season of Maria-sama and my personal impression is that it comes very close to yuri. Though some anime sites classify it as 'romance', I still wonder whether it's a yuri type 'romance' they are talking of. I was expecting a bit more of male-female type romance or something along the lines of sisters guiding the freshmen in terms of romance related problems but it seems that the sisters here are little more than err.. just sisters.
I would be interested if someone can fill up whether the new season comes up with something else or still continues along the same line. -san |
