Lol. Dunno what I was saying. I meant to say that I've seen worse events in real life and not anime movies/series. Mm-hmm. I'd want to see those, but how can I without having to spend money? I don't have cable either and I don't want to download anything off the Internet, because I have dial-up. Thanks! |

Ah yes. Dial-up is a problem when downloading (I have the same problem.  ) As for how to see more anime though, their really aren't very many alternatives to spending money.
The first obivous choice would be to ask you friends to borrow some, but I'm sure you've already tried. The second choice would be to download, but you already eliminated that with the dial-up problem. The third choice, I guessc would be to check your library or any other place that might have free public media. Here in the U.S., some libraries actually carry anime for rent, but I've never actually tried looking myself. There might not be a whole lot, but it's better than nothing. Other than these, you'd more than likely have to use some money. Sorry, that's all I can come up with. Good luck though.

i found guyver violent, although enjoyable to watch. Also fist of the north star, stuff that happened to those guys was just strange.

haven't seen Berserk but id be amazed if it could top Fist of the North Star for the number of gruesome ways to inflict pain spoiler[ when have you ever seen someone use his hand to put holes in another guys chest before! Yuck!! ]
And until i saw the anime short from Kill Bill Vol1 i didn't think Ninja Scroll could be beat for samurai inflicted death. And then theres poor Yakumo as someone mentioned before - 3x3 EYES would have been tame if it wasnt for the writers child like love of spoiler[killing there main character a dozen times or so, each one worse then before - though in the manga they go much further ][/spoiler] |

I've not seen 'Heavy Metal 2000', but from reviews and screenshots I've seen it's a little harsh not to class it as anime because it's produced in the USA. AEON FLUX which was part of MTV's 'Liquid Television' was also American, but in my opinion totally anime!. |

I hate to be elitist, but the term "anime" refers to animation that was specifically created in Japan with a primarily (though not exclusively) Japanese market in mind. It DOES NOT include American animation that happens to be "grittier" or "more stylish" than most. Not all anime are gritty & stylish, so why do the "underground adult" Western productions get to be classified as "anime" due to it? That is an invalid qualifier, and as such Heavy Metal & Aeon Flux are not anime. Also, to say an animated title is not anime IS NOT being harsh or negative. Just because an animated film or TV show is not anime does not necessarily make it "bad" or "inferior." It just means it was not a Japanese-produced, (primarily) Japanese-oriented creation. |

Animatrix are mainly american animes. Moomin is a swedish anime. Aeon Flux is an american anime. Sure, animes originated from asia, but nowadays they are made allover the place. When I explain to friends what anime is, the easiest explanation is that its asian animations, since everyone knows how they look. But, that doesnt necessarily have to be true, since there are exceptions, like the ones I listed. "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust" is a little confusing, but even though the original dub is american, it's a japanese anime since its made in japan by a japanese crew 
As for violent anime, I think Genocyber is in the top5 
It has everything from spoiler[kids explown to bits to monsters viping out entire cities] 
Blue Gender is pretty raw, with bodyparts flying, but it isnt that violent. Koroshiya-1 is really raw, with sperm and screams, but it isnt that violent either. Grappler Baki is pretty violent, but it isnt as shocking as Blue Gender or Koroshiya-1. |

These examples were produced in collaboration with the Japanese studios, if I remember right. They are considered anime (as in the Western definition of "Japanese animation," not the broader Japanese definiton of "all animation") because of that.
Nope. Aeon Flux had nothing to do with the Japanese, aside from possibly some painfully lower-level things like in-betweens in which they really have no say on the project. It was a primarily American and (I think) Korean production, thus falling more under the "action cartoon" banner. |

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I'd have to say that Apocalypse of Devilman is the most violent and disturbing anime I've ever seen.
I'm not going to go into details, but if you are squeemish in any way, shape, or form, then don't wath that anime. |

i haven't seen very many violent animes, i noticed that berserk and ninja scroll are among the most popular so i'll have to check them out. but i also saw that the scene in kill bill vol. 1 is a very popular opinion, and i've seen that, and i'd have to most definetly agree. so for me as far as most violent i guess i'll have to say that. some other violent ones i've seen were kite, and i think the violence in angel sanctuary is pretty strong in the scenes where it's present.
