This was before we were mods over there. I think this was part of the reason that they decided we need mods. Hey wait - we can ban people? |

Ya'll care way too much about what one kid thinks. My only concern is that she's obviously too young to be reading explicit manga at all.

You bring up a good point there. I see this alot at the DMP forums and on LiveJournal. Young teens getting their hands on explicit manga that they are definitly not old enough to be reading. I'm not sure of any ways to combat kids getting their hands on it that would work without making it much harder for fans that are of age to get it. Now I've only really seen this in the BL fandom - most likely because that's my prefered fandom, and the young BL fans seem to be quite vocal about their likes and dislikes. But do the other generes of explicit manga/anime have this same problem? |

You know why we bash you? Because you are insulting those who like it! If you would simply say you don't care for it instead of saying it's gross, should die, and calling everyone who likes it sick, then we would have no reason to bash you. I don't get why you only support boys. I'm starting to get the impression you must really hate girls, or you are very sexist against your own gender. It's just odd to me since I've been a feminist my whole life. Girls need to be supported just as much as they guys do, because gay girls go through the same stuff gay guys do. You should go back and reread your own posts. Maybe you will finally see how childish you have acted. It's not bad for you to dislike yuri, but please don't insult the fans of it. If you have the right to drool over two guys together, straight men, lesbians....whoever likes yuri has just as much the right to look at yuri. |

too young?? I'm almost 20! Gees..I couldn't careless, but you guys are now assuming I'm some 13 year old illegally reading yaoi.
This is pathetic, so I hate yuri and everything about it, wow get over yourselves, later, I'm finding a yaoi site to chat about boys and not some chicks getting it on. Face it, not all of us like both genres, and its even worse to know theres a con for it as well. Yaoi is popular, and hopefully the other will just rot away. Now watch, you'll all bitch saying whatever. I have high beliefs and opinions, so live with it. No matter how much you damnwell bitch it will never change my mind. |

One) Tolerate does not mean like. Please look at a dictionary instead of a doujinshi for a change. Two) When you demand tolerance for your likes, while offering no tolerance for the analogous things you don't, you become the definition of a hypocrite. Three) The quote above is a demonstration that you have no more social awareness than some frat boy watching lesbian porn for his thrills. Thirty seconds on the Gay/Lesbian Alliance's website could find you a link like this one: http://www.glaad.org/media/resource_kit_detail.php?id=3495 I have no expectation of changing your mind really, or breaking through to you on the definitions, but that sadly misinformed little statement could not pass unchallenged. |

Karorin, perhaps there is a language barrier at work... I was making judgements about your age in large part on the basis of your prose style, but if english isn't your first language that explains and excuses that.
No one is saying you have to like a kind of entertainment you don't enjoy... I've never read yaoi or yuri, so I don't really have a dog in that fight. But as Uberfrosch points out, you can't demand tolerance for your side while attacking the other side. You give the impression that your attitude started because of yuri fans who slammed yaoi; obviously they are ridiculous, but for that reason you don't have anything to gain by adopting their tactics. |

Alrighty, the misguided hypocrisy and homophobia I can take. I hardly tolerate them, but I've come across these mindsets so enough (isn't highschool just lovely?) that I have grown accustomed to simply rolling my eyes as opposed to starting a debate. But, in addition to these traits, you also seem to possess a kind of self-loathing penis envy. Now, I'm not saying you should become a bra-burning, man-castrating lesbian, but I'd urge you to have second thoughts about your gender. Having a vagina really isn't so bad, I promise. |

*~*~*~I Come In Peace~*~*~*
karorin, uh, actually, like a year and a half ago, when i first got into yaoi, the second i heard about yuri i was all digusted (though definately not as much as u) and didn't want anything 2 do with it. If one of my friends mentioned it i would stick out my tounge but smile when they mentioned yaoi. (what a sad time that was) But, as weeks went on, i started to hear from people who liked both yuri AND yaoi on websites and they talked about it like these people are now. so i was like, "screw it" and decided to try some yuri out (although it was only a sango/kagome fanfiction but w/e). Now, i didn't "like it" [if u catch my drift] but i didn't hate it. i don't c how someone could hate a tale of genuine love, though. I suggest you skip through a shoujo-ai or yuri manga or scroll through a well-written yuri fanfic and c if you are really so cold-hearted as to not recognize the possibility of a love between 2 women. Oh , I know, to start off, you should try reading CLAMP'S Miyuki-chan in Wonderland one-shot manga. It's the second funniest book i have ever read and is filled to the top with girl/girl hints. Check it out. BTW, about your comment of all yaoi being beautiful and loving, uh, no. BIG NO. what about all the dark and evil rape stories out there, huh? And all the stories where some 37-year-old warps a 4-year-old's brain into thinking that their relationship is one of love? [Sorry shota-fans (i do think 2 boys the same age is okay, though{10+})] Not so beautiful. It think that's all. Ja Um.. question 4 anyone when i posted this my sig wasn't on it even though i clicked the box to show it... what happened? |

ok i know this is late but.....
What the hell is wrong with you girl? You constantly bash Yuri and Shoujo-ai, and you think Yaoi should be the only thing out there? NEWSFLASH little girl, most Yaoi [expletive] SUCKS!!! no story line, just some guys going at it. You have seriously mental problems. Seriously thought, what is wrong with you? You hate that there is a Yuricon? but you worship Yaoicon? Cant stand real life lesbians? But you worship real life gay guys? Your the worst kinda fangirl out there, you bash EVERYTHIG except gay buttsex. Yuri and shoujo-ai have some of the best stories out there. They are Beautiful, and have great characters and story. I suggest Battle Athletes, Sailor Moon, and definately Maria-sama ge Miteru (manga and anime) a truely beautiful series. I even read some of your anime reviews. You honestly have the worst taste i have ever seen. THe second a girl is shown on it you turn it off, you have no tastes at all. I heard you even say you are agay guy trapped in a straightgirls body. Do the world a favor, and instead of Yuri (a good art form minus hentai) shriveling up and deing, do it yourself with your Yaoi hentai. (Yes Yaoi is hentai BTW) |

Um, yeah. I disagree. Ever heard of Utena? THAT has a REAL good story behind it. There is good yuri, and bad yuri, just as there is good yaoi and bad yaoi. Point is, you can't just take the whole entire genre and say, "Oh, it sucks." When did this stupid conversation start anyway? There is only a small part for the lesbians in Loveless anyway. And you're not going to read an awesome manga just cause of that? That's idiotic. I'm not that big of a yuri fan myself, and I do wish that some of the good yaoi/BL (Loveless, for example) received a bit more publicity, but your opinion is homophobic, biased, and closed -minded. |

Oh yeah, one more thing. Maybe it's a good thing you're not reading Loveless, as you'll probably turn out to be one of those dumb fangirls that just reads it cause the relationships are cute and you'd be distorting the characters' personalities in some lame-ass fanfic that you'd write, not because the story is deep and it has a complex philosophical undertone. |

@ Bu:Ru -- Don't double post. And don't bother trying to revive arguments that were dead and buried over 3 years ago.
