He also does Tamaki in Ouran.

I've been trying to figure out if it was a shotgun wedding or not, and the Miyano Mamoru community over at LJ brought up an interesting discussion about how much Japanese celebrities reveal versus how much is known about American celebrities in the mass media.

Are...you kidding me? So Light and Setsuna's voice actors are the same between each other in both English and Japanese?

Amazing...

And congratulations to Miyano-san, too.

Haha... I love how we still have to deduce everything despite announcements. It's not announcing! It's "effectively announcing"!

I wrote a blog post a while ago about the difference between Japanese and American celebrities. Honestly, I wish American celebrities could keep their crap under wraps better. D;

Mind = BLOWN. Didn't see this coming in a MILLION years... anyway...

It's been a while since I checked up on Mamo-san's blog-- now it's been taken down T-T

How cute that he's a daddy now ^-^ He's my favorite seiyuu.

However this came to be, he gets my blessings-- he's a great guy (from reading his translated blog long ago) and as fun and cute as he is, I bet he'll be a great father :3 We can only hope his wife is cute and fun-loving as well Anime smile

And Mamoru was better than Brad Swaile both times.

I'm glad that Mamoru has found a woman he can settle down with. I hope she feeds him; he is listed as being 185cm tall and yet only 58kg. That's not-quite borderline anorexic, but uncomfortably close.

How do they have control over this?

But still, I find this very cute. Smile

They are probably thinking it would somehow harm their sales, but this is actually good news I think.

Meh, this is why the seiyuu industry (as opposed to the US/Canada voice-acting business) bothers me. A seiyuu's personal life shouldn't affect their career.

I think it was deleted because some "fans" were ranting how he had given no hints about this beforehand and were actively cursing his wife and unborn child. Mad Those people are a minority but probably out of sensitivity to the seiyuu's feelings the video was taken down so no more negative comments could be made (and unfortunately the same for congratulatory comments as well).

I wish I had seen this before it was removed. I would have liked to have tried to read/translate these "negative comments" 'cause I get amused of what people on NicoNico have to say (as well as learn some Japanese internet slang).

I don't know if any "official" persons posted the video on niconico, cus mamo's fc2 blog only linked to his text announcement at Himawari Gekidan's site and the Kingrecords site which hosted his 80mb video message.

Apparently the page is really hard to load now, but I went to the page successfully earlier and got the video with no difficulty...

http://www.kingrecords.co.jp/miyanomamoru/

You can also watch the video at Divine-san's Random Curiosity, where he also has a good explanation of what Mamo talked about in his rather emotional video message.

http://randomc.animeblogger.net/2008/12/01/a-message-from-miyano-mamoru-to-everyone-married-and-expecting-a-child/

And even though I'm not a huge fan of his voice works, I love his singing. I won't call myself a die hard fan or anything, but I'm really touched after watching the video and I am very glad that this miracle... happened for him. Wish him and his family all the best.

Seiyuu do a lot more PR for anime (see the events section of the Seiyuu Database) than North American voice actors do for U.S./Canadian cartoons. Works both ways; there's a very good reason why the U.S. release of Ogenki Clinic is dub-only: Kikuko Inoue's in the Japanese cast.

Aya Hisakawa got married back in 1999 but I have no idea what her husband's name is, or if they have kids. She's a very private person.

I disagree. Although Miyano obviously fronted a few memorable lines from the series, Swaile did a great job of acting as Light.

Setsuna on the other hand, I assume Swaile was casted as just because they think they can use him as the "official" English voice of Mamoru Miyano now. There's really no other way I could wrap my head around his casting for the role.
