666 Satan isn't bad. Pretty typical shonen stuff, but still pretty good.

I want to know about Parasyte too...

Parasyte is great. The artwork is a mixed bag, the humans look boring, but the various parasytes look all have quirky and/or creepy designs. I've only read the Mixx/Tokyopop release, but even there the clever writing shines through.

Don't know about Dolls but I have read Doll by Mitsukazu Mihara. Since you seem to like shoujo/josei and horror/occult, you should definitely check out Mihara's work.

If you like angst, you can't go wrong with Hot Gimmick . The art is fairly standard for the genre.

Togari by Natsume Yoshinori is a good manga with an incredible story line and an artwork that strikes especially through the fluidity of some of the battle scenes; the main character Tobe definitely knows an evolution and I really like the way in which is portrayed and there are not so many cliches as it would have been expected at the beginning. The fault of this great manga is the ending, which is becoming legendary since it is a title that has been dropped by the author (or so I heard in another thread related to this title). Anyways, the problem is the abrupt ending so if you don't like to remain with big questions then I wouldn't recommend it. But then again I liked it a lot in spite of this.

The Wallflower by Hayakawa Tomoko is a great series and I enjoy it a lot. The story line is full of humor and the characters are always doing something unexpected. On the downside, you have to be really patient when it comes to the romantic moments. But the comedy is great. This is the title that I am also currently reading and I like it a lot. Warning: it is quite long; over 20 volumes.

Not only that (I've only read up to volume 10) but the adventures do seem formulaic and repetitive but still fun nonetheless.

Though very expressive! The artwork is rough, but the facial expressions and body language are far superior to most manga out there.

It's the only one out of that list I can heartily recommend. Definitely the best on-going manga being released in English right now (well, the current Del Rey version, anyhow).

I've only read Uzumaki out of all these. It's a 3 volume collection of horror stories narrated by the protagonist who is involved with all of them.

I won't go into detail because of spoilers but I found the third volume very lacking compared to the first two. The first two were great, all the episodic stories didn't drag on too much and were creepy enough to be an enjoyable read. A few stories were a little repetitive but overall it's a good read, just don't expect volume 3 to be amazing.

I'll second (or third) Parasyte. I'm currently following the Del Rey release and ir's really good stuff. The art looks a bit dated to me, but it does well to convey the horror in the story. Speaking of which, the story is well done and easy to follow, though at times not easy to digest. Once the premise is established it takes some interesting turns, and the parasites are fun to watch. The story twists the knife enough to send you to the floor, then you'll get back up for more.

I've read the Shonen Jump preview of Cowa!, and it's not bad(?). It's a comedy piece that has the feel of some of Akira Toriyama's other works (plus vampires and ghosts). It's not scary (nor is it supposed to be) and the comedy seems to be aimed at ten-year-olds, so... If you've seen Dragonball or Dr. Slump then the art shouldn't surprise you, other than the (over)use of dark screentones. It does have an interesting character or two, maybe.[/b]

I abbreviated your quote - these are all the titles I know about.

Absolute Boyfriend - suffers from a love it or hate it syndrome. I personally found it to be funny and cute. I wouldn't call it ground breaking shoujo but standard cutesty, sparkly-toned shoujo. The characters are fun and even with the expected shoujo situations, the series remained interesting. The series is only 6 vols long and a fun read.

Gaba Kawa - one shot! Woo Hoo! I'm picking this one up once it is available. I have only read one chapter of the work but it looks promising and fun. Again nothing amazing, but a fun light-hearted read.

Meru Puri - This was a title I looked into myself. I decided against it. For my tastes it was too cutesty and the magical girl thing is just not my style.

Uzumaki - 3 vols long. You must read this if you enjoy weird horror. I bought this on impulse and was amazed with it. It is creepy and disgusting, but so wonderful to read.

Zombie-Loan - Another impulse buy because even with the name Peach-Pit the premise sounded good. Thus far, 3 vols in, I haven't been disappointed. The main characters are fun and even the title female doesn't annoy me. The plot moves quickly and is well paced to keep the reader interested and turning pages. The art is crisp and good for modern manga art. I await the fourth vol which should be in the mail by now.

I hope that helped.

I haven't read any in that list, but based off the praise I hear I'd suggest Uzumaki and Parasyte. Oh, and Super Cruel and Terrible Tales of Manga-ka since it's done by the ever-so-awesome Iou Kuroda.

Uzumaki? Prepare to stay up long in the night... A movie has actually been made out of this chillingly unique manga series.. If you love gruesome macabre horrors that start out with a normal village and end up with a sad, psychotic twist, this is definitely for you.

? 666 Satan (aka O-Parts Hunter) -- If you like shounen. I think it's a pretty typical representation of the genre.

? Absolute Boyfriend (aka Zettai Kareshi) -- If you like shoujo and Yuu Watase. It's supposedly one of her better works.

+ Super Cruel and Terrible Tales of Mangaka -- I found it pretty funny. It features quite a variety of humor too (irony, black humor, straight-up silliness).

- The Wallflower (aka Perfect Girl Evolution) -- After a couple of volumes, the plot (a bunch of hot guys scheme to turn the heroine into a proper lady but generally fail) started getting old.

+ Uzumaki -- If you like horror, this is for you. The art can be graphic at times, and you might find yourself seeing spirals EVERYWHERE. Prepare for some sleepless nights Anime hyper;
