Is there a reason that series got an Adults only! age rating? The series is a TV show and not even close to a hentai (there's one suggestive scene, but it's pretty minor and doesn't overshadow the entire series). |

Another example of allowing John Doe to submit "erotica" genre (sigh).
Personally I'd prefer to have the "adults only!" rating back to staff-only [age rating] field, and titles with such a rating will have "erotica" as genre automatically. Is it technically possible, Dan? |

Of course it's trouble to allow anyone anyone to enter information. The question is: is it more trouble than it's worth?

Worth noting that erotica does not always equate to porn (hentai). I haven't seen Kohime, so I can't judge whether or not it is erotica, but there's a lot of non-pornographic erotica out there (ex: Lethal Attraction). Personally, I wonder if we should probably have the genre "porn" to differentiate the two, but our AO rating equals that. -t |

But how do we differentiate between explicit porn, and echi material that isn't actually pornographic? I wish I could think of examples, but sadly my anime interests don't gravitate that way. |

Don't get me wrong. I don't watch non pornographic erotica. If I'm going to watch something erotic, I'd rather just watch pr0n.
And of course, I was referring to anime. I'm aware of a lot of live-action non-pornographic erotica. :-p -t |

I see no problem in liking hentai. Good for the encyclopedia that people aren't ashamed of posting on the North American Licenses (Adult) thread. doc-watson42 has all my respect. Oh, and if someone is going to post examples, let them be very detailed. Please.

Too bad that hentai anime is not even legal in Taiwan... yet hentai manga is. 
Erm, detailed in which way?
I'd say Kanokon is a good recent example*. It does manage to push broadcasting censorship standards to the limit, such as spoiler[butt licking] and spoiler[Band-Aid "bikini"] etc. The DVD releases are even more revealing, with spoiler[nipples and frontal nudity.] *Note the licensing info |

Another example that looks to fall just short of the Adults Only rating is Mnemosyne. It is chock full of sexually-charged nudity and sex, spoiler[including a lesbian orgy in episode 5,] but never quite shows genitalia. Some of the scenes of have guro aspects to them. However, there is enough more time and content devoted to the plot that it can be considered not just for titillation.
