So how many volumes will we get out of this run? Maybe two this time?

Although I really love this series, I hope Togashi goes ahead and wraps it up. I've only read the Viz releases so I haven't experienced the huge gaps that fans over in Japan did. It would really bum me out to wait years between volumes. And given the fact that 22 of the 25 volumes have been published in America, that could happen if he keeps taking breaks.
Is that Killua on the cover? What a strange picture.

no, that is a new character, a girl who mastered playing gun-gi. The insect-king wanted to play against all strong players in various board games in order to do something while he waits the destruction of the humans. Yet this girl is the only one who was able to beat the king

Hunter x Hunter is back!!! woot woot!
This is great news. Hopefully Togashi-sensei can give us more than 10 chapters this go-around. That way, the HxH manga can regain some of its popularity in Shonen Jump reader polls and last longer.
Unlike some other readers, I really don't want to see this series end soon. There is still a ton of ground to cover!

As far as I saw for the ending of volume 25, she was at least mortally wounded, if not dead. That really turned the Insect King's attention towards the hunters.

It's not really worse than the situation of, for example, Peacemaker Kurogane fans. This series was put on hold by the author (probably when she had written herself against a wall and didn't know what to do with the story), and by now she has started two new series, and Peacemaker remains unfinished.
I find it incredibly comforting to know that Togashi is still working on HxH, even if he's doing it in his own pace.

The series seems to be on a biannual release schedule nowadays. He publishes 10 chapters and then polishes them up for the next 4 months or so until the Tankoubon comes out. Once you realise that, he's not actually going on hiatus he just really needs to switch over to a monthly magazine instead. He's done this a couple times now so unless something has changed I predict it'll be the same this time too.

Clarification, please: I was under the impression that the guy takes breaks frequently because he's in poor health. True?
(Additionally, enough mangaka are in "poor health" that I'm beginning to suspect it's a Japanese euphemism for "rehab"...)

I thought this sounded like deja vu, and sure enough, exact same date as last year. Go figure. But yeah, I really hope this manga doesn't end. Togashi is one of my top 5 favorite mangaka, so it would be very sad if HunterxHunter were to end now, when the story is only really getting rolling. We still need more anime after this arc finishes.

Bellos, I don't think there's really an official explanation for Togashi's schedule. Anything like "He's dying of cancer/AIDS/etc!!11" is just speculation and hyperbole... and in really poor taste.
Most likely, he cannot stand the pressure and stress of weekly publication, and since he can afford to follow his own schedule, he does it.

According to Wikipedia, it's something called "Togashi-ism."

So, is this manga actually good?
Like, really really good? And original for shounen?
Basically, should I buy it?
