If you're familiar with Suzuhito Yasuda's illustrations from other projects, what you're seeing explains a lot.
He has this style of making objects look crisp and shapely, but a lot of open space around or even inside those objects.
As much as I love his style and designs, I know it doesn't always work out so well. I noticed the color tones can get a bit funky at times, too.
I haven't read this series yet, but I'll see if that's the case this time when I get the chance.

I didn't realize anyone had this until I was browsing in Borders the other day.
I also didn't realize it was so fanservicey at times o_o;;
Samutaro's mom is the one that provides half the fanservice... Heh.
It's a fun little romp though, and I wasn't expecting any deep end of the world epicness, so I like it =3

I am shocked that the series even became licensed. The only thing that the review failed to mention is that series will only appeal to a very limited audience. Other than that, I loved the review. It was very fair to the series and accurately highlighted its faults and strengths.
