I've watched the anime series and the first few volumes of the manga and they seem to be relatively close fits for one another.
One thing I am wondering, for those who have read further, does the story actually go anywhere? End of Ni Gakki and things are still essentially the same. Do any of the characters actually get together or do they get stuck in limbo with the comedy value becoming less and less as it drags on? |

There's a few relatively developing storylines, but to me quite a few of the characters have seemed to fade into the background, others have held their grounds on what their status is and so forth. I think it will start getting somewhere when they're finally reaching the point of graduation. I don't think it's too far off though.

On a side note, around what volume of the manga does the second season end of he anime end? It's good to hear you think it does eventually go somewhere. There are so many shows and so forth that I want to know the final endings for but have no interest in reading what takes place to get there. Lost for example, I just cannot stand to watch it at all, so when finally an ultimate resolution comes up I'll skim a few synopsis and watch the final eps. |

Lost is basically a primetime soapy, because just when you think one problem is solved, something else comes up, and more people come in, etc. I watched a few episodes of it, and I couldn't watch it anymore, because it wasn't going anywhere.

Well I have read up to the latest chapter so I would say that it mostly stays the same with all the little side events happening. Once you get farther to where the latest chapters are which is around 280 or something it picks up a little with more drama and conflicts.
so yes "stuck in limbo" would be the correct phrase for most of this series until it finally develops after a lot of chapters. |

Ah. Well I do like the random hijinks but vastly prefer the actual story to develop somewhere. Do you know what volume of the manga (in English) the end of the 2nd season of the anime is? I'll start buying from there and fill in the gaps later. |

i am pretty sure it continues at volume 13 chapter 161 because thats where i started and everything was pretty close to the anime but some things you might have to skip through because its in a different order then the anime
idk kinda confusing but just look for the chapter around that area that you haven't seen or read yet |

Well relationships do develop deeper bonds, more characters are introduced into the series and toward the end a lot of things are wrapped up spoiler[(Including crush/relationship that was only hinted at but I knew was bubbling)]. So yes, it does go places but part of the fun remains the journey. |

Wellness, you seem to know alot about the series. I watched the anime but I'm not following the manga.
So is it likely Harima will get his dream girl, Tenma? Did he lose interest in her and is he interested in another? I'm curious as to the whole Harima-Tenma-Yakumo-Eri thing. Feel free to spoil me as I probably wont read the manga and I like spoilers. Also do Ichijou and Imadori hook up? Or get better as friends or something? I really liked this couple in the anime. I felt so bad for Ichijou. I really wanted her to be happy. She was adorable. |

spoiler[So far in the story harima does not get tenma. tenma chased after karasuma to america when she figured out he was sick. sawachika now has to go back home because her mothers sick. so harima wants her to stay no matter what so eri asks harima to be her fiance to be able to stay and its only "pretend" ichijou and imadori just stay friends i think i may be wrong but i think they just show that they both are getting closer but not together officialy ] thats whats happening so far it might be better summed up by someone else but thats whats been happening lately |

Even if Imadori is a idiot. ] spoiler[The whole Tenma issue is sad. But from what you said it looks like Eri has more of a chance. I like Eri and Yakumo better anyway. Either one of them would be fine to me. I feel bad for Harima though. Hopefully he fully gets over Tenma.] |

I like the story that goes on between Imadori and Ichijo. Even with the situation it's in right now, it still is going in a good direction, compared to some other storylines.

[Edit: Nope, sorry, no linking to scanlations. - Keonyn] OMG WTF OMG WTF OMG WTF?!?!??!?!?!?! spoiler[okay, next chapter is the final chapter?! there's like so many things yet to happen! i mean, harima is supposed to get tenma...they're supposed to end together... *cries* and tenma and that idiot are getting married wtf?] really i'm greatly dissapointed in what happened and let's hope that the next spoiler[and possibly final] chapter of school rumble ammends this =( i mean, it's too sudden!!! argh |

Wow...that sucks badly..
Hopefully it wont end like that...I want Harima to spoiler[at least get a girl even if its not Tenma.] He's like the only main male character in a harem that I like. Hell I dont even like harems (not even reverse harems) but because of him I watched this series. |
