I was wondering if anyone had seen this anime and thinks if this anime is worth the money to spend on? I heard it's almost like Love Hina.

I read the first volume of the manga and was disappointed, but that probably doesn't help. I didn't like the Cowboy Bebop mnga, but loved the anime.

I haven't seen it...(I could've sword there was a thread on this already, but I can't find it...)...all I can suggest is maybe looking in the encyclopedia and seeing what people have rated it.

Well, it seemed like whomever did it knew how to draw nice manga-style pictures but didn't really know how to tell a story visually. I read it and the lastest Ranma book back to back, and the difference was really striking. If you just follow the pictures without reading the words, in most Ranma you can at least kind of follow the story, but if you read Happy Lesson without reading the text, there's no way to figure out what's going on. That bugs me.
But that doesn't mean the anime isn't good.

I don't know about you but I'm going to go get it, because I've seen a episode on a disc I got in newtype. Well I for one is hoping it is going to be worth the money. But that just what I think.

I saw the first episode of Happy Lesson in Newtype and it wasn't anything special. It seemed like most of the other shonen (sp?) harem romance's, and didn't do anything new. There's a lot of fan service but there is probablly anime out there that has substance and fan service, and there are Much better harem anime out there, Tenchi comes to mind. My advice, save your money.

Yeah I also watched the first eps in Newtype. It seemed kind of dumb and boring. The only romance anime I have seen is Love Hina ( buy the manga not the anime) I mean I Like romance in my anime (Rahxephon anyone) but its not mostly somthing I watch. So the bottom line is I thought it was dumb. Im sure others can point you into the paths of other Romance anime.

OOooo..okay!! Thanks, people!! Now I can save my money on another anime. Last time I spend on a anime DVD that was like a BIGno no!! It was such a waste of money and I didn't even watch the whole thing. *sigh* What a waste!! It's just sitting there in my closet collecting dust. So does Happy Lesson have a lot of romance in it?

Happy Lesson is interesting.
Interesting in the fact that it takes a pretty standard shonen show idea (a guy living with lots of girls) and puts a different spin on it.
The girls are all about 5-6 years older than him, all work at his school, and all want to be his new mother.
Now, I was pretty skeptical about this one, but got the first episode with Newtype. It sparked my interest enough to rent it.
I can say that Happy Lesson is sweet, not really a romance per se. I mean, only the class president is wanting to date Chitose. The majority of the action is around the girls and their attempts to construct a family life with Chitose and his two sisters.
I'd give it another look. It has grown on me and I look forward to disk 2.

I'd agree with that. I caught the series on fansubs when it was coming out in Japan, and it kinda tweaks the standard harem anime. Fun little show....
Worth a rent, for sure. Buy if you like it.... Kisaragi is the best, though...

I saw the first five or so episodes on fansub *cough* anyway, I liked it, becuase it had the light comedy feel to it with out the (What I percived) as the forced romance of Love Hina (The anime not the manga, which I like). I've seen people describe it as a romance, which I think it incorrect - the main character didn't show any romantic moves to the teachers in the episodes that I saw. Overall I like and would say that you should maybe rent (Or borrow) the first DVD and draw your on concusions.

Ooo..^^ I just got the chance to watch Happy Lesson only the first episode >< and I thought it was alright but I think it seem to be better with the orignal Japanese voices. I actually borrow the Anime NewsType sample DVD from a friend!! Hmm..I'm curious who is that pink girl that was shown in the opening and the ending? Does anyone know or gotten that far yet? ^^

It's kinda like Love Hina all over again...and that's both a good thing and a bad thing. The thing is, there's been alot of Love Hina knock-offs in the past fews years (also remember Love Hina is a knock-off of Tenchi) so to see Happy Lesson as one of them sends a warning signal. But its a decent manga series...but if you're really looking for some good manga, may I suggest Azumanga Diaoh...

She's the younger sister of the main character, Chitose. And just incase you were wondering. The girl who is singing on the building is his older sister.
Truthfully i found this anime to be quite funny, but then again, i also enjoyed Love Hina Again.
However, as other people were saying, the manga of Happy Lesson is not as good as the anime. I thought it was lacking quite a bit in story and humor.
