I wouldn't have been surprised at this, but the release was solicated(sp?) with Japanese audio. To be more specific, a Japanese 5.1 audio track. To make things worse, the final release of the disc still has the 5.1 audio track listed on the back, but it's no where on the disc to be found.
Information came from World's Finest Review of the Blu-ray release. To be more specific, here's what is said on the site:

Why would the shorts have a Japanese-language track when they were all written in English, by American writers?
They were only directed by Japanese animators. The project isn't exactly like 'The Animatrix.' |

Maybe just so they could have a Japanese track like they could have other language tracks. |

That was a screener copy, maybe Warner realized their goof? But I have a feeling Warner will release it with Japanese at some time or another. This could just have been an oversight on Warner's part.
