The old censorship laws ended up contributing to the creation of a host of bizzare fetishes that include tentacle rape and lolicon (because they couldn't show genitalia and pubic hair). If any new censorship passes, then hold onto your hats for even more craziness that'll make the current stuff look tame. At a certain point, censorship becomes like picking at a scab: it sure feels like it helps, but it really only makes things worse and may leave a permanent scar.

There's plenty of precedent for arresting pedophiles over merely "sexy" non-nude photos of real children: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/20/business/20model.html?pagewanted=print Quote from the article regarding photos: "emphasizing the minors’ genitals and buttocks." If you remove the legal protections for drawings and "virtual" representations, then quite frankly Sky Girls makes you guilty as hell. |

Apparently there's people who don't realize the difference, which is that child porn harms real ,living people. Loli harms no one. |

First off, it's not always about rape. I much, much prefer consensual lolixshota material. As for how it's different, well I'd like to think you aren't seriously unable to comprehend how it's different, and think it would be insulting to your intelligence to spell it out for you. (plus, someone else already did)
Also, a big loophole in banning the exploitation of underage fictional characters is anybody at any time could take a pencil, and create a depiction of an underage person doing something inappropriate. The artistic quality isn't what's being questioned here, as far as I know. I suppose people shouldn't be allowed to own pencils too, because they lead to fake child porn, which leads to real child porn?... Also, Sky Girls (the OVA at least) is loli fodder. It's kind of hard to miss. What I saw of the series seemed to do much less exploiting, bu the OVA was definitely just fanservice. |

Proof that Sky Girls is loli-fodder: http://s280.photobucket.com/albums/kk185/Kougeru/?action=view¤t=Ayako_Sky_Girls_-_26_-_END_-_H264_9.png Just a screenshot from the show. |

I'm not a fan of loli at all, but there should be no precedent for the restriction of any sort of information that didn't involve the infliction of physical and/or psychological harm on real human beings in said information's inception. Censoring virtual pornography of any kind is a slippery slope.

Seriously, you're doing the same thing he is, stating your opinion on the matter. If you can't take other people posting different opinions simply because you disagree with them then you shouldn't be on here. It's a discussion board, not an everyone agree with me or don't post board. |

If it were about violent content in localized stuff, I have the feeling the shoe would be on the other foot. And that's the first and last thing I have to say on the issue. I'm not getting into this one. Forget it. Given the choice between siding with the lolicon fans or the moral guardians, my decision is to go home and have a nice meal. They can make like electron and positron for all I care. |

I agree, thanks. We all do have a different opinion on the subject, and although I will agree that Sky Girls has that loli POV (even though it says the girls are 16-17yrs), it the intentions of the persons watching the show or something like it that, and the preverted ideas they GET from watching it, are what concern me. I won't try to change peoples opinions on the subject, but I won't stop voicing mine. |

There's so much craziness that extra censorship could start. Ooh, wait I know! Combine menstruation fetish with loli! After all, menstruation is a biologically mature activity. You can even use maxi-pads to attract the diaper-loli fetishists. You'll have loli-looking women menstruating into maxi-pad diapers to prove that they're not underage! All this is just with a few minutes of random thinking. There's no saying how far the craziness could go if censorship actually happened... wait a minute, you mentioned vampires. Do vampires menstruate? How about 500-year old loli vampires menstruating into diapers or tampons and then sucking out the menstrual blood (they are vampires, after all...)? Ow ow yuck yuck yuck. I don't even like that stuff, so what kind of even crazier things would the guys that actually do like that stuff invent? No more censorship, for the sake of human sanity. |
