Anyone know which studio animated it? It reminds me of some gag anime I saw through Anime AICN which was produced by Madhouse or 4c.

Quote: | Studio 4°C (Tekkonkinkreet, Genius Party) animated this five-minute, 33-second "Real Legend" episode as part of a 24-episode series. |
Not sure if the entire series will be animated by them as well.

You'd be dead right, it is indeed Studio 4c. The fact they're involved with it got me started on the actual manga...
(EDIT) Dormcat beat me to it.

I hope it has English subs, as I don't expect this to ever be released outside of Japan.

On the contrary, I think it could attract those who don't usually watch anime e.g. KISS fans.

That was priceless!!! When Soichi accidentally hit the cop in the head with the guitar, I couldn't stop laughing!

On the contrary, there's already a built in audience for something like this, thanks to Metalocalypse. It might even go down on Adult Swim comedy pretty well.

That's interesting, I assume that each episode is only 5-7 minutes long. Up till now I thought this would be a TV or OVA series with typical 22-25 minute episodes. It sounds interesting, I'll keep my eye on it as the release gets closer...
And why hasn't the DMC anime been added in to the encyclopedia yet?

Well, I had no interest in watching this whatsoever and then I watched that little clip and it looks pretty hilarious. Hopefully someone will snag this for an R1 license.

I definitely want to see this series. I was thinking about Cromartie High School, and if it's comedy like that (or better), I'm definitely going to buy it.
Though, I do hope it does get licensed.

judging from the first one, it's gonna be 5 minute shorts based one each manga chapter. as strangely enough, it actually makes sense, given how short the manga chapters actually are. i would like to see them do a long episode though based on Satanic Emperor

I think it's got a good chance of a license, actually- This is something I could easily get my metal-loving siblings to watch.
I'd buy it if if got picked up.

Same here. And I'd tell my friend to buy it for her husband who thinks anime (actually most animation) is stupid, but loves Metalcolypse and real death metal music. She'd probably still have to glue him to the sofa and pry his eyelids open to get him to watch it, but it might work.
