How many Romance of the Three Kingdom adaptions do we NEED?! Well, this one might be better if "Chinese history and culture" is what they're aiming for.

But. Dream of Red Chamber. Yes, do want.

Let us not forget John Woo's Red Cliff in July.

As an unashamed Dynasty Warriors fan, how can I enjoy either the anime or the upcoming film if there's no cheese-metal soundtrack or characters with 'tude?

Wasn't there already a Romance of the Three Kingdoms anime? I mean, the story is very popular and all, but how many remakes do we need of it?

I mean...KOEI has published 11 games of this series for crying out loud. I still haven't completely finished the first one yet. Laughing

I just hope
1. that the character designs won't suck
2. that it'll be as faithful as possible
3. that it'll be broadcasted in Japan so we can get it subbed

If I remember correctly, there was another adaptation not too long ago, with some yaoi vibes. Maybe that's why it got ignored by fansubs.

A big problem would be either faithful to the history or the novel (judging from the title it might be the latter). For example, Zhang Fei / Chōhi has much higher accomplishments in Chinese literature than Liu Bei / Ryūbi or Guan Yu / Kan'u, yet in the novel he became a macho man who knows only about combat. The novel is way more widespread than the history book and has much more influence on the general population.
