Well,This is quite different from Genshiken. But,if it's Shimoku Kio's work, than it should be a win. Since most noobs don't read,it won't really pick in the states untill it gets animated.

Isn't this basically the manga answer to Princess Maker?

Being a monthly publication, it will be easily forgotten unfortunately.

Genshiken was a excellent series, one would think most of Shimoku Kio's would become instantly popular. Hopefully this new series be interesting. But only time will tell.

If I didn't know it was by the same creator as Genshiken, then I probably would pass on the series. The brief synopsis makes it sound like too many other stories out there...

I agree wholeheartingly. If the creator of Genshiken didn't create this, I would pass on this completely. Though I am very hopeful this series isn't a harem, ecchi, shojo or magical girl manga. Those series get old very quickly and often go in cirlces after a while.

I was expecting a much different series. I do look forward to Kujibiki Unbalance, that series I might actually start to collect.

Quite right in my mind. Unless it gets animated, it's probably not going to get much attention from North American fans as they'll have to wait for this series to come out over a long period of time.

To me, anything that's serialized in Afternoon gets a solid chance to be very good. (everything from Ah My Goddess to Narutaru to Mushishi to Yume Tsukai to Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou just to name a few). So much great stuff has been from that magazine over the years... I'm glad that he got to keep his spot in it.

But this could also work against Mr. Kio because this series may not be popular. Think about the manga picture, the characters are most likely under the age of 10, they are chibi and are moe.

I dig this 2-year-old thread up because 1) I just added it to the Encyclopedia; sorry for the loooong delay 2) Digopuri got licensed in Taiwan, and 3) Shimoku Kio is coming on 25th, apparently to promote the newly announced license.

From what I've read (non-continuously on Afternoon), spoiler[Ayumi and Kaname are twins living together; the former is now a single mom while the latter is a gothic lolita. While the baby Yumeko is driving both crazy (she's quite sensitive, cries very often, and is definitely not the cutest baby around), it is particularly interesting to see Kaname feels frustrated, for she is much less prepared psychologically to be a mother figure; after all she's only 18 and Yumeko is not her daughter.]
