It's nice to have anime screened in L.A. again. Besides TK and Paprika, here's been a lack of that lately.

Steve Blum, Wendee Lee, and Kari Wahlgren? Kickass.

Screen the first two episodes of Lucky Star? Good luck trying to keep people awake for episode 1. It's not like I didn't find some humor funny in Lucky Star, but the whole food conversation was absolutely inane and irritating. Thankfully I had seen episode 2 first so episode 1 was slightly more bearable.
Though the first two episodes of Geass are pretty fun.

Agreed. I fell in love with Lucky Star pretty quickly, but the first episode was rightfully panned. It's definitely a show you want to force somebody to see more than just the first episode of.

It does take a while to get into the right mood to watch Lucky Star. And the first episode doesn't do anything to prepare you for it.

I'd love to get the Silent Mobius movies playing in L.A. again one day. *wink wink nudge nudge*

I'll give Lucky Star a chance since this series is in English. But the theme song, that is a entire different story ALL together. Best of luck Wandee Lee, you did such a great job in Love Hina.

I'll admit, I am looking forward to seeing Lucky Star in English soon. Wandee Lee has done some interesting anime as numerous fans know. Cowboy Bebop and Love Hina are just two of the titles.
Despite some fans hating English dubs and what not, I am still excited to see this series in English. Thanks for the information.

Yeah. I would like to see how far shows like Lucky Star and Code Geass will go in this country. I ain't gonna hold my breath.

I'm not a dub hater, but I'm not a Wendee Lee fan (esp. after being bitter that she got the Haruhi role, lol). But Kari Wahlgren playing Kagami makes up for it.
Most of all, I wonder how they're going to handle a lot of the Japanese cultural references. I bet they're doing a localization job that will crush some anime fans dreams . Replace Comiket with A-X?

I'm a huge fan of both Steve Blum and Wendee Lee, and while I don't know anything at all about Code Geass, I can only hope that they get the chance to play off each other as characters, since they truly excel at that. (Cowboy Bebop and Big O are two of my all-time favorites and series that I'd never even consider watching in Japanese, and I was pleasantly surprised to find them thrown together in Megas XLR too. ) Kari Wahlgren's an excellent actress in her own right, too. Now, if only this wasn't 3000 miles away from me...

Given how ham-handed the Haruhi subs were ('future men'. Need I say more?), expect the worst.

You know, no matter how well they do the dub of Code Geass, one thing will still remain vastly inferior. That of course is the lack of Emperor Wakamoto. This is the truth.

I'm actually really looking forward to both of these shows... which is rare cause I normally don't do that.
