A couple of weeks ago we saw Anemone use telekinesis to freeze and throw Shaga so she has innate magic power and with the addition of the grimoire I think the OP may be more literal than fantastic, especially as it is populated by real people in the cast including her riding on a quad-copter. You could be right though and a good surmise, guess we'll see... I have to hand it to the writer, they don't shy away from having sexual activity between Kenichi, Azalea and now Myaley. I was wondering why she was more human in appearance than the other cat-men and now I know...Primula had better watch out...(like in the ED) Also impressed that for as low a budget as they obviously have, they changed the OP a bit to fit the new setting and cast compliment... |

I thought the same thing. Or more specifically, I thought Chicory? Like the coffee? But maybe these chicory seeds have to have soaked in the mystic moonlight or absorbed the essence of fallen heroes buried in a nearby battlefield or something. Or Maybe Kinichi is just assuming that because they're being mentioned as a magical component and he's having a brain fart. |

Well, I would expect a magical component to need to include actual magic in it to work.
As for the OP, it might be a dream of Anemone but given the characters it has in it I could see it being her not completely realistic version of an actual battle that took place. Or maybe a fairytale she created with the help of Kenichi. |

Sigh, sometimes lackluster animation and unclear directing can really be at odds with the episode itself. Episode 7 had some fun content with the collecting of Chicory seeds, dealing with the vagabonds and female chaos. The latter in particular offered some fun jokes (Anemone can be quite blunt) and sealed the deal on the Primula situation. Sadly enough though, the first half was utterly messy due to bad animation and a complete lack of flow during the action. The second half thankfully had no action but was still not a looker.

It's true, the anime's been low budget since the start. I know I've said this before (maybe I should just repost?) but I sort of put this anime in the same category as anime like Chillin' in My 30's, My Daughter Left the Nest et al, and New Gate in the sense that it's managed to be pretty entertaining anime despite that.
This anime is a little different from those, though, in that I think all of the anime I mentioned would be elevated at least a rank if their animation was slicker. I don't really think this anime would. True, today's episode's opening scene would have been more effective, but it really didn't have that much action that would have benefitted. A crossbow shot. Some people being attacked by animals. Now, some better music and art... I have to confess, I was expecting Anemone and Prim to get along better based on the OP. I was expecting Prim to become kind of a mother or big sister figure. Well, I guess sisters fight. It looks like Kinichi's going to have a noisy household. Kinichi is kind of an odd duck as isekai harem protagonists go. He has the same harem plot aphrodisiac thing going on where beautiful women throw themselves at him. The difference is, instead of screaming or running away or insisting their friends, he just kind of sighs, gives up, and says, "Fine." Like today's episode where Prim was all, "Okay, I'm here. Shut up and take your clothes off, and I don't want to hear any nonsense about us breaking up." Lucky doormat. |

I guess I can call myself an Anime Trash Panda because when I like a show, I'm not too discriminating/critical of the details and I like this show. All the shortcomings mentioned are true but aren't too egregious if you ask me. It is sort of enjoyable seeing that Kenichi has an active love life and Primula asserting her Best Girl rights bigtime! Definitely wish fulfillment...I too was surprised at Anemone not welcoming her into the "family" which puts her fondness to be with Kenichi in the bath in front of him with the biggest smile into perspective. I wondered if something were up with that before this and now I think there was...(Eww)

Episode 7
As a middle-aged+ male online shopper myself, the MC being catnip for all the chickies is in my Super Duper Wish Fulfilment Zone. For me, Best Girl is Guild Receptionist because she's got the best girls. Even MC can't take his bugging eyes off their succulent majesty. Yes, animation budget for this show is 5 cents and like smurky my stomach gurgled in nausea at the sight of it. And believe me, I'm not one of those sakuga freaks who demands exquisite visuals at all times, but come on. Anemone's devotion to Kenichi is a bit... disturbing. I kinda wish the show would take its foot off the harem pedal but that ain't happening. So let's at least see Guild Receptionist drop her duds, for Pete's sake. |

Ep7 title is "Creep Forth!". One might think it was referencing the goons in the woods, but the adverb "forth" can also be rendered as "to come forward" which could also be extended as "to be revealed"....(hate to tell ya Kenichi)

Episode 8 showed why the Kenichi family will never be one that experiences the calm life, not for long anyway. Be it going on adventures or selling special goods, they are bound to draw attention and given the ending it is of the royal kind this time. Otherwise the episode consisted of making bank (those gems alone will set you up for life), adding glutton Nyamena to the family and enjoying food. They do need a bigger cabin/house.

Ep8- I find the unapologetic and brazen behavior of the new cat(?)-woman Nyamena sort of charming despite skirting the edge of crassness with the "you'll always be welcome to me" because of the inherent honesty and transparency. Have to confess, the warm-air drying is relatable too...Yeah, no way will they live the "slow life" with such thriving businesses and spices attracting giant attention...Liking the show more each episode, I watched today before Dr. Stone or Villainess Dad so that tells you something. Of course the latter two are like the "main course" I'm saving for later...

This is quickly turning into the "100 Girlfriends Who Really etc. Love You," as it looks like they'll even be adding a mother/daughter duo to his fan base. And apparently they're now throwing in a dash of "Greatest Alchemist" by way of "So I'm a Spider" next week. I suppose that's fitting, since the whole theme of the show is passing off others' work as your own.

The thing I'm wondering about is all of these innovations from our world that keep appearing without Kenichi's involvement. All of them so far have been things that could be created with the isekai worlds level of technology, without being transported straight from an online shopping network. It makes me think there's another isekai'd shmoe out there who doesn't have a Kenichi's "blessing" I wonder if this person is being held prisoner in a cell somewhere being forced to crank out innovations, or is rising to power on the strength of them, or what.
Imagine if you were struggling to drag a medieval world up to a modern day standard of technology, and suddenly somebody brought you a modern piece of merchandise that had Made in China engraved on it in tiny little letters. Also, have they already explained why the existence of that bandit gang would have been beneficial to an anti-royalist faction and I missed it, or was that a cryptic comment? Maybe just any kind of anti-stabilizing influence is considered a good thing from a revolutionary perspective? And what is this group with a choke hold on all spice and sugar distribution going to do if Kenichi suddenly starts producing a popular new mayonnaise condiment? I seem to remember some show about seven prodigies being isekaid - I didn't watch it for long - where mayonaisse was introduced into an isekai world and became like heroin. |

It is all but certain that another visitor is in that world given the double booking, mayo and other innovations. I wonder if said person also has some kind of blessing or if that was a special deal for Kenichi. The anti-royalist faction indeed seems to crave chaos to make the royals less powerful and in regards to the spice cartel, they will probably try to kill him sooner or later.
Anyway, episode 9 was mostly about dealing with a dungeon with spiders in it and due to the poor animation it was a tad rough. Due to not wanting to repeat myself I am just going to suggest that the show should avoid combat as much as possible. Noble problems are also coming up...again. |
