It's always a bit of a shock to go straight from Middle Aged Online Shopper to this anime, where the art and music and animation are so much better that it's almost ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying Middle Aged Online Shopper, which has a quirky story and gets the most out of its makings, but it's a bit like going from photo stop motion animation to modern computer animation.
It was particularly pronounced this episode because #19 was so purdy. Or maybe I've just gotten so used to the gym background that the festival scenes got a boost. And geez, they're really milking the love triangle now. I'm talking full on, swollen uddered mastodon milking here. And they're doing it pretty well, dammit. Everybody's sympathetic. Somebody's going to get hurt. Pathos! Melodrama! Ghah. |
