Episodes 1-4
I didn't bother checking this out when it first premiered because it seemed like it might skew younger than I generally like and nothing about the image above or plot summary really engaged me. Even after reading the previews and finding out that Hiro Mashima, the dude behind my beloved Fairy Tail and Edens Zero, was credited as original character designer and that the material had a Fairy Tail vibe was enough to tempt me at the time. But curiosity won out last night and this morning and I'm now all caught up. And glad of it because it really does have that Fairy Tail feel I love. A very welcome addition to my Friday line up. |

I've actually been watching this, too. I've never seen Fairy Tail, myself, but initially thought the designs for this looked very similar to the former. Then lo and behold, I discovered it's the same creator.
As for Farmagia, I did a little research on the video game when trying to fill out information in the opener and was surprised to discover it only came out November 2024. It feels a bit unprecedented that a game get an anime adaptation only a few months later. But watching it so far, I'm actually a little curious how the game itself would play out. From what I've read, the gameplay sounds like a mix of Pokemon and Persona, but uses farming methods to raise the monsters. Not sure how well that'll translate into the narrative of the anime, However, it's not a bad show, so far. And if anything else, I'm really interested in trying the game at some point. It's also good to hear Asian Kung-fu Generation do an anime opening, again. Haven't heard those guys in years. |
