To the surprise of no one and the delight of all.
The canary in the coalmine was the fact that the "finale" is literally the beginning of the next arc.

Quite a bit sooner than I would've guessed, but no complaints from me!

Not a surprise at all but very good news plus a lot faster than expected.

Hell yeah! I'm really glad they are premiering more so soon, I feel so much more ready to wait when I get 24 episodes over a year, I really liked that about Dungeon Meshi too.

I haven't finished watching this anime, but yeah, I'm not surprised this anime would have a 2nd season. I knew this anime would be a hit one way or another.

Season 2 isn't surprising, but getting it in 2025 kind of is.

The show has been doing big numbers on Netflix, so this is no real surprise. It’s definitely welcome though.

Awesome, but do they gotta leave us on a such a huge cliffhanger? Waiting 6 months to continue the story without checking out the Manga is gonna be so freaking hard.

This doesn't have much to do with Netflix performance. It was leaked to be two cours before it even started.

Based on the season 2 poster it looks like season 2 will adapt up to the end of the Vamola arc, so probably somewhere in the middle of tankōbon volume 9, most likely before Reiko Kashima gets introduced.

Hopefully it will still be on Netflix as well. Be for the best if it was on both.
