Here, from July 15, & here, from October 9.

On that point -- anyone know if there's somewhere to find episodes 77+ legally streaming? I was really bummed on a recent re-watch to not have a source for those.

Hajime no Ippo: Rising (i.e. Season 3) did get simulcasted by Crunchyroll back in the day, but it's since been taken off the site. Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger (i.e. Season 2) has never had an official English release.

That's a bummer. This may be one of the first times I actually feel compelled to try to find a physical copy of media.

The series continues as 'Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger' and 'Hajime no Ippo: Rising', as well as the movie 'Champion Road' and an OVA. How legally available any of it is will be dependent on your region I believe.

If we keep buying the Blu-rays for the first series, maybe Discotek will license the rest. Buy them for yourselves or your shounen-loving friends who've yet to watch this masterpiece!

Netflix announced they were going to add more episodes, then something happened and they rescinded the announcement. Considering Netflix is probably the only entity that could fund more Ippo at this point, I’m hoping they have plans, like dubbing New Challenger and Rising.

I hope they include the OVA and TV Movie when they license the rest of the series! Also, they should really continue adapting the manga, I think it has the potential to be their next Baki.
(Barely related, but does anyone know why Netflix didn't license the earlier Baki seasons from the 2000s?)
