Wonder why Crunchy use 'Fruitmaster' in the title as the skill is named 'Nut Master'. It even states that in the article. The skill fruits in question are literally nuts, or at least called that, at least in the manga.

The phrase used, kimoni (木の実), can mean the fruit of a tree, a nut, or a berry. It's one of those phrases that can be translated a few different ways depending on context.
The official TL just went with fruit since it's probably more encompassing. (And honestly, seeing the visuals, they definitely look more like fruits.) If you look at the official synopsis, and not the one ANN uses, you'll see the terminology is consistent with the title.
But yeah, I understand.
I, too, lament the loss of this opportunity for a series to be titled Nut Master.

Did this came out of the sudden or someone was expecting it?

I was gonna say, if they didn't do fruit he'd be <<nutmaster>> which would certainly give off a different vibe....
