Speaking of Kodansha boxing series, anyone know where to find the Ippo manga on Kodansha's site?

Ippo is currently only available via the K-Manga service.
As for the actual news at hand, it's awesome to see the original Joe anime finally available official in English, in some form. Now hopefully Crunchyroll will eventually re-add Joe 2 at some point, which they once did stream during the 2010s but later removed due to an expiring license.

Joe 2 is also being readded on December 3, according to the article.

Joe 2 is also being readded on December 3, according to the article. |
The article, & source itself, simply state "Season 1" & "Season 2", which is immensely too vague, seeing as the two Joe anime were produced a literal decade apart & by different studios (Mushi Pro vs. TMS, but Osamu Dezaki & Akio Sugino were involved in both shows), though TMS looks to have the rights to both shows now.
Joe 1 is also 79 episodes long, the last 27 of which were re-adapted into the first 12 of Joe 2 (since the first compilation movie only covered the first 52 episodes of Joe 1), & Joe 2 itself is 47 episodes long. Hopefully ANN can get some clarification on what Crunchyroll is calling "Seasons", because I have doubts that they'll just be putting out 79 episodes out all at once for a show that's never been officially subbed into English before. If it is indeed that then awesome, but I have a feeling that this is right now just Joe 1 being released in two chunks, due to the sheer size of the show.
ADDENDUM: The source itself does, at the very bottom, do refer to Joe 1 & Joe 2 as their own "seasons", but it just seems way too much to just throw out 79 whole episodes of Joe 1 all at once. TMS unfortunately has a history of going with (at least partially) machine translated subs, too (as seen with their uploads of The Gutsy Frog on YouTube, though the quality has at least improved somewhat with more recent episodes), so I at least hope that TMS didn't go that route for Joe 1's subs.

It looks like you're right, since Crunchyroll just dropped the first 35 episodes. Bummer. Maybe they'll release Joe 2 after the second drop.

I'm quite excited that we're finally getting some love for Joe in the English speaking world.
I still really hope to get a physical release for both the original and 2 also... I instabought the Discotek release of the movies ASAP, but would love to have the whole franchise.
