This doesn’t seem to have any connection to Youtube Premium, though? Why is that in the title?

An error on the part of the person who wrote the title (which if ANN is like many news organizations, isn't the same person that wrote the article).

It should have been "Primetime" (as in the article), not "Premium".

EDIT: They have now corrected the title.

I really hope they put any Precure dub on Youtube. Because that's a more reliable way to reach young people.

YouTube Primetime isn't available in my market, but from what I can tell, it appears to just be YouTube's equivalent to Amazon Prime Channels. That is to say, instead of subscribing to Crunchyroll independently and using their own apps/website, you subscribe to them through YouTube. Any increase in eyeballs seems like it would be marginal.

Will this involve paying to watch these YouTube Primetime channels? Or are they free to watch if you already have a YouTube account?

To be entirely fair to them, I probably would've made the same error. I knew of YouTube Premium, but no idea what the hell YouTube Primetime is - I look it up, and it's one of the things I thought YouTube Premium does, or some tier of it. So I may have been reading "Primetime" as "Premium" this whole time...

Why not a more different, distinct name? Like, say, YouTube Red?

They appear to be pay channels that are a separate add-on for subscribers of YouTube TV, much like HBO is a paid add-on to a cable/DirecTV subscription. No idea if they can be bought separately as I don't sub to YT TV & never heard of YT Primetime before now...

90% of my online time is spent on youtube, especially seeking out new content and creators. Why is google SO BAD at advertising their own services? I even have premium via a friend's family account and have NEVER heard of primetime.

While your point is valid, the correct name was used in the article, which perhaps points out the degree of attention paid by the headline writer to the article itself. Smile

While not the problem here, I (and no doubt many others) have seen some headlines that are so off base that one has to wonder. It is bad enough that on some sites that writers pen serious well done articles only to have someone else give it a clickbait misleading headline.

While this can be seen as a good thing for Crunchyroll to branch out to other places but I can't help but be worried of how they will get through it as YouTube Primetime is not exactly well known.
