The big question is, what does this do for the version coming out on Netflix next week, and even bigger what does it do for the physical releases?

The Netflix release will probably be the original theatrical cut.

As for any eventual home video release over here... Who knows? Anime smile + sweatdrop

Crazy to think that it this was announced in 2006, production started in 2021, and they still could not produce the version they wanted by 2024.

Did G-Witch cut into their production?

Gundam SEED Freedom 2.0 (True)

Cutting where? Where are you seeing forty minutes added to the Blu-ray? The film is two hours long, that's the 120 minutes you see listed in the specs. The additional four minutes is the video extras.

I was already waiting for the Blu-ray because in typical SEED fashion, this was going to happen.

One more cut and they can put Sy Snootles in there. Limited time screening epilogues. Jesus Christ. Patlabor 3, at last, had unrelated comedy shorts attached when those 3 were screened at random before the main film.
The film is total trash btw. The 2 previous seasons, Destiny especially, were at least the good kind of bad. 2 hours of pure filler made to only sell toys and now Special Editions, I guess. Animated Gundam is deep in the dirt rn. Pls, be better 00 S3.

I quite like the film (well second half anyway, first half is boring), but I did notice Lacus was going off character model an awful lot, so not surprised they are doing some touch-ups for the Disc release as they did with the SEED series. Theres a few combat animation goofs like dissapearing/reappearing weapons they could fix, finally wouldn't be surprised if a few more cameos were added too or the existing ones were given some speaking lines. Athrun's storyline was pretty weak so could do some fleshing out of that. Apparently the novelization has an additional epilogue scene between Cagalli and Athrun while the original cinema release had collectible epilogue cards where the characters had a LOT of children but Bandai weren't happy with the adult suggestion. The film epilogue had Kira and Lacus naked on a beach so maybe they want to alter that ending for the physical release as well.
