It’s crazy comparing how quickly this will release compared to how Toei handled that last Sailor Moon two-part movie.

Why does it have to be essentially direct to video?

Why would this film be considered direct to video when it's actually going to be screened at movie theaters?

It's being streamed by Crunchyroll and I can't find any reference to it on any theater chain or sites like Fandango.

I mean, it was literally just announced. Yes there were some cases where they timed the announcements after coordinating with theaters beforehand so that they had the movie and ticket info available almost immediately, but in most cases it will take time for theaters to coordinate this stuff and make it available. It's probably one of the reasons why there was no mention in the article as to when ticket sales will begin for the showings.

you'll have to keep an eye out for when tickets go on sale at which theaters yourself, CR has done both very wide releases and extremely limited releases
