Because there's going to be a lot of dance sequences, the animation has to be good, right? RIGHT?

Considering they got a proper dance producer, it have a chance... which solely depends on how bad the CGI gonna be there - considering Cyclone Graphics inc. is the assist CGI studio.
The "music" part of manga though will totally not gonna be replicated by any meaning in the anime, the amount of Western pop/hip-hop hits that are namedropped needs the budget of ten anime series just to acquire all of the licenses.

Would that be the same for Eastern pop/hip hop hits with the licensed music? Is it just Western hip hop or all music?

Well, to put it simply - manga author is a big fan of Western pop and hip hop music in general and namedropping the song titles during the dance sequences for people to listen and set them in the right mood - but this "playlist" filled with a lot of big names (Bruno Mars, Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, Michael Jackson and many others) - so it's literally impossible to have the same song set in the anime because music labels will literally eat way more budget than require to make the whole show.

Yeah, I genuinely never expected this to get an anime because of the track lists.
It’ll be weird to see the adaptation - you can tell the art is set to the music when it’s dropped on the page too.
Absolutely love the manga, but I’ll be wary of this until it comes out.

In regards to the discussion about music licensing, I think just a competent composer versed in those genres would have to do.
I personally hope they get Mabanua. His work on Megalobox was incredible.
