I used to play this one all the time! I can't remember which version, but I remember making her so buff and great at adventuring that she was too buff to fit into cute clothes, so I had to make her keep practicing so she wouldn't lose fights while also helping her lose bulk. I had no idea there were 74 endings, I definitely need to grab it again and explore those more

I played the original version of the game out of historical interest in the 00s so I got to experience the true kiddy porn as Gainax intended. Not a great game outside of that either and how about the official hentai calendars for EVA? At least 2 of them. Gainax memories you can never forget because they are on Archive.org.
Wake me up when they remake Creatures. A 90s revival I could get behind. |

I can understand the “Bunny Drop” endings removed because that is just ick, but what was wrong with the butler? Is it just the age gap?

That, and the fact that they grew up together, so they might as well be adopted siblings. |

PeanutButterGamer did a really great rundown of the game in a single playthrough, very worth watching if you're on the fence.
There have been other (incomplete) versions of this in the past, but this one on Steam and Switch in particular has a really great translation with voice acting, and you can track your ending progress with the gallery now to see how much of the game you've completed. In regards to sexism, the game presents a very particular older style of D&D-esque sort of world. It's less a matter of it being "this is how the world is supposed to be, and more a matter of "how are you as a parent going to adjust to those expectations" when the world is unforgiving, and raise the daughter character to be proud and strong in spite of it. If you take a look at PBG's video, a lot of the weirder junk happening to his characters is more of a "consequence" of his having moments of fumbling. In turn, because the consequences can swing wildly, the risk & reward has a narrative weight to it - your daughter character has the potential to become a storied D&D-esque hero too in spite of all of their society's challenges, rules, and foibles. Trying to achieve that is the adventure, and if/when things go horribly wrong, the more bizarre moments have a "dark comedy" sort of tone to them that make the experience memorable. Mushoku Tensei has been a big hot topic as of late and portrays a rather unforgiving D&D-adjacent world, and I feel like the stuff Princess Maker 2 includes is nowhere near as blatantly fan-servicey as Mushoku Tensei can be at various moments. Going in aware of the tone and context, and what is expected of you as the player from a narrative perspective, this is probably one of THE most memorable visual novels I've gotten to play, and it really scratches that itch for a classic RPG/D&D sort of tone/world/experience if you go in for the immersion. |

Makes sense - two easiest in real life too. One is the oldest profession in the world, and the other is............................ the oldest profession in the world. |

I've never really understood all the hoo-hah about this game's questionable morals. Yeah, it can be sexist and skeevy, but it's much too silly to take seriously. Even as a child, I knew that this was all presented in a certain context, and I was a pretty stupid kid.
Apart from the PlayStation content censorship, I assume this new version censors some art across the board, given that stuff was redrawn? I can't imagine having a bunch of nudity on Nintendo. Although I like the Refine version on Steam fine, I might pick this up for Switch at some point for the improved translation and portability. Even after a lot of patches, the Refine version still has pretty janky text, and the rest of the series' Steam releases are even worse! |

I don't know about this game, but there's already a bunch of nudity on Switch. |

Yes, the nudity is largely excised (though there is still some implied nudity where you can see her shoulders and the top of her breasts). It's definitely because of CERO, maybe a bit of Sony - Nintendo is surprisingly chill about nudity on the Switch. Waifu Uncovered had to be censored because of the ESRB, but you can buy the "full-frontal" version for Switch on Amazon with a PEGI 18. Funny enough I don't think whoever did the IARC rating questionnaires for PM2 got too far into the game. It's an E10+ on the eShop (the ESRB gave it a T for "Suggestive Themes" when they rated it on PC many years ago) and a PEGI 3. Meanwhile, the physical Japanese Switch copy has a CERO D. |

I'm not necessarily interested in giving this a play myself but it does make me want to revisit the epic of Lizzie Shinkicker.

That is CERTAINLY an increase from Sega's internal rating of the game from a All Ages back when the game got released on Saturn. Good lord. I know standards have changed quite a bit and CERO's pretty damn conservative in comparison to all other ratings agencies, but even with that said, D/17+ seems harsh. |

It's probably all the sexual themes. You can end up being a concubine, a head lady of a brothel, the mistress to a rich old man including two separate epilogues for if you are charming enough to keep his interest over the years or if his interest fades and he moves on to other people. Not to mention the one I played had something called "dragon tights" that the description say is popular with "dirty minded fellows." While those are all concepts that a 13-year-old may be familiar with, I can see why they an overly conservative organization may have been careful giving a person that young a game where someone can approach them to ask them to be a prostitute. |

Happens with movies and TV shows too on streaming services that like to remove episodes and content. That's why it's always advocate for people to play the original versions of video games rather than re-releases. As time goes on the modern versions just become the worst way to experience these classic games. |
