It's great that Peach managed to be in first place for over three weeks and it seems its stock is finally decreasing, perhaps Nintendo overestimated the amount of coipies it would sell, but now it seems that the game could become an evergreen title. I'm also surprised that Rise of the Ronin managed to stay in second place, seems the game has been better received in Japan. And the Switch version of Unicorn Overlord ranked on the 12th place, so it seems they could print some more copies.
In terms of hardware sales, the Switch is selling better than what it did last week and even the same week from last year with 71.942 which it's still amazing for a seven year old console, while the PS5 has only sold 24.976, just 4.130 more units than last week. Also, Famitsu has stopped tracking the sales of the 3DS after 685 weeks, now the Switch is the only Nintendo hardware on the market, well, if we don't count the Lite and OLED variants as separate systems, but they're the same. Speaking about sales, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is still in the Top 30 in the 15th, some sales analysts have been claiming the game's total sales worldwide are lower compared to what Remake sold in the same timeframe, which doesn't surprise me a lot. |

I’m fairly pleased that Ronin is hanging in there and hopefully finding its audience.
I think it’s secretly one of the best games this year. In addition to all the effort put into its setting, the combat is incredibly fun and the game never actually loses a lot of its edge as you’re introduced to more tools since the enemy move list is so large and keeps all the fights interesting: https://youtu.be/fvEa9XuSTA8 (This is what the game actually looks like when you don’t rehearse a fight for an hour: https://youtu.be/pLNs-3C_rSQ ) This is quite a bit different from Dragon’s Dogma 2 where you kind of start autopiloting combat once you find something that’s busted, though to be fair, that game is still pretty fun even when you break it. My PC got bodied so I rebought it on PS5, but have been playing without the AI: https://youtu.be/5H17CBhI4Ew That skill is interesting because the thing that makes it useful is actually missable, though you can manually dodge to avoid its self destruct damage, but the execution requirements are a lot higher. Anyway… lots of great games this year. I’ve been having a lot of fun. Can’t believe I have all this to do and then Stellar Blade drops in a few weeks. Hope that game does well too since it’s shaping up to be really good too based my my experience with the demo, which gives you a fairly good preview of all the cool tools to play with: https://youtu.be/iqUUyqmk3Rk?si=jqpdx6j9eQyou3ai I’ve seen really scrubby takes from people that claim that the parrying and the dodge (which seems more reliable from a neutral input) don’t work, but I hope people engage with the game in good faith criticism since it seems like it’s a lot more than the fan service (which is cool too… they appear to be giving you a million costumes ). |

It's great that Peach is selling well! After the last princess peach game I was afraid the second one would not do well but here we are! I just hope Endless Ocean does just as well. We need more chill ocean games.
DD2 might need an overhaul at the source code level or worse a remaster if it hopes to justify a follow-up game. The game's performance on top end PC's is just dreadful because at times it's CPU bound or GPU bound depending on the area. It would really suck if the series does not continue. |

...Who is still buying Mario Kart 8?
You'd think every family in Japan has a copy by now. |

Rise of the Holdin doing as expected. Sony's marketing for this game was just terrible especially when they marketed Nioh so well. This game is actually co-developed with Sony's XDev so its weird why the marketing was lacking. Word of mouth is saving it.
1. Wrong. The 3DS is still in the market. Famitsu decided to stop tracking it on the chart. 2. What an expected weird thing for you to say when they are called Switch meaning they are the same system. I would love to see who treats them as separate systems and laugh at them. But since you brought it up, I should start here. 3. Why would you need to state what some analysts are saying when the Japanese sales showed showed Rebirth opened at 260k at retail (basic math would have it at over 300k with digital), which is down from Remake's 700k retail (1 million with digital) opening. Basic math obviously tells you Rebirth is lower worldwide. |
