Toriyama's passing was already a shock to me and now less than 24 hours later TARAKO passes? So many anime/manga industry icons dying young these days...

Rest in peace. It looks like her first and last roles she got were Urusei Yatsura.

I already can’t process Toriyama’s passing and now a voice for my favorite adult swim anime dies right after? I loved Tarako’s effects for Kirara and apparently someone at VIZ thought so too given they retained her growls for the dub. This hurts along with both of Miroku’s Japanese and English voices dying a few years back.
Not to sound melodramatic, but as we grow up, our heroes age and leave us. Now its up to US to be the heroes and inspire the newest generation to also go the distance. Well, I’m willing to step up and be a role model. And I pray at least some of you here share that belief as well. RIP, Tarako, and you too Toriyama-sensei. Thanks for being some of my heroes. You left your marks and then some. |

She's going to appear in Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction so there's one more anime credit, but yeah in terms of weekly series, UY was her first and last. |

She also voiced Mikan, the main protagonist in Mikan Enikki, which was very popular here in Latin America in the 90s, so this really hurts me quite as much as Toriyama's death.

I'm completely shocked.
Just as Chibi Maruko-chan is finally gaining an English-speaking audience. Both the real Maruko, Momoko Sakura and her anime counterpart are gone. Tarako actually wrote some of the episodes as well. |

I'm just thinking about how Midori Kato is 84 years old. People have been listening to her voice for over half a century, but she won't be around forever either.

Man, first Toriyama and now her? This week sucks. Mays he rest in peace, she made so many kids (and not only) happy.

These sad news for older anime fans keep on coming like a snowball, dang it.
Chibi Maruko-chan maybe not known that much outside of Japan - but for the Japanese it's one of the most beloved TV series that goes through mutiple generations, and many people grew on watching it - and suddenly losing the lead voice of the titular character is pretty low blow to their hearts, especially in the recent days. Rest in peace, Tarako-san. |

I know her mainly for Chill in Xabungle and Heavy Meta-ko in NG Knight Lamune. Super memorable, fun performances that made me glad to see her name on any cast list.
What a shock. Too young. RIP. |

When Momoko Sakura passed away in 2018, a Tweet showed two gift illustrations by Momoko Sakura and Akira Toriyama with characters of respective counterparts, featured in Momoko Sakura's Technicolor World (ISBN 978-4088550947). It's more saddening to see those pictures this week in particular.

Holy Crap!
Literally less than 24 hr after the announcement of Toriyama’s death. I’ve really love Urusei Yatsura remake and TARAKO performance. I really do pray for family and friends and hope she’s in a better place. The ending to week has been awful. RIP |
