So I'm guessing they were making their family uncomfortable...
I like how all the girls have different body types.

Eroticism is really becoming more and more unacceptable in manga. In 5 years it should no longer exist in this media.

Well, this is a pleasant surprise. I guess they worked through whatever circumstances had caused the previous hiatus. I've really liked the series and was anxious about how truncated the 2022 ending may or may not have been.
I was just looking at the release calendar the other day and realized it had been more than a year since Seven Seas released the last volume. (O_o) Anxious to get the series back up and running on that front too...

What do you mean? I only read ecchi/erotica (Gushing over Magical Girls, Deatte Hitotsuki de Zecchou Jorei!, Mato Seihei no Slave etc etc) so I wasn't aware of this.

Lol, its never going anywhere in Japan
Its just a vocal whingy minority in the west. They complain whenever there is too much skin or the titties are too big. Not like it always hasn't been like that.
I mean hell, you had stuff like the 70s Lum series that had frequent nudity at a primetime slot. Its just gotten less subtle now with fanservice.

I didn't say that ecchi manga disappeared, but rather that currently it is no longer tolerated with the same normality as before, an easily identifiable example is how there are no longer any published in shounen jump. Japanese society has changed in recent years and certain themes considered problematic are no longer incorporated in media focused on the mainstream audience.

And your reason for saying this is because... a manga author felt his home life was making his occupation of creating ecchi manga untenable? That has nothing to do with eroticism becoming "more and more unacceptable in manga." It has to do with the person's personal living situation.

I didn’t know Japan was in the west.
Fun fact: Many countries Japan included can and will take issue with the sexual objectification of female characters.

Kind of. It's an ecchi comedy with some what serious martial arts. However I would say the ecchi is a step above that while being a step below actual hentai. The first Omnibus is pretty crazy and there is a review for it here on ANN that goes into some of the most extreme bits. As the series progresses it focuses more on the martial arts part and is actually good.

This is actually somewhat accurate. A few years ago anyone demonizing it on this site for example wouldn’t be tolerated and equated to book burning. Now you have pages of people saying you watch or read that stuff your a degeranged human being and it shouldn’t exist. I’m not saying that how everyone is but that side certainly has made gains. lol

I'm glad he's back. Stepping away is temporary, but the culture... it's in you forever.

More like one tournament arc than “starting with a tournament arc.” The author quite openly calls his manga softcore porn and once promised fans that the manga would return to the "old sex comedy" after the tournament arc, which was received controversially by Japanese fans due to the relatively small amount of lewd content.

This is a question not so much of the manga or anime itself, but of Western standards or social discourse around the industry. For example, if in the 00s and early 10s violence in video games was considered a boogeyman and players hated anyone who even just mentioned it, now you can easily find young people accusing GTA of promoting violence against random people or read with what joy the gaming media greets self-censorship in games. Something similar is happening in the Western anime community right now, notice how the open love for ecchi has become an unironic protest for a number of people. Although earlier it was even jokingly suggested that all anime fans love ecchi.
Whether this is good or not is up to you to decide, I just want to say that this is not a question of how the topic looks, but of how people began to look at it.
