Seiichirō Yamashita is the voice for Yagen, not Daiki!
Man, I’m still so bummed the game closed, but I will always welcome new anime. I never delved too much into the stage plays, so it’ll be nice to get some of that story side of things.

I'm ugly crying for the loss of the game in English and because I'm happy we're getting this until the movies come out.

I'm hungry for anything Touken Ranbu related ever since the game ended for us in the west.

The stage plays are pretty hard to get a hold of overseas so this will be a good bridge for people who want to enjoy it without the hassle, me thinks.

If you have the App Store you can still play the game. It’s not hard to navigate and the Wiki has all types of tutorials for things that might be difficult to understand.

I was super worried at first, but I’m glad they used the original voice actors for the characters over the stage play actors. I know some of the stage actors have done voice work, but this feels more “official” I think and I would have missed the og voice actors if they went in any other direction.
I’m also not that crazy about the art style… it’s not horrible, but at first glance, it definitely gives “Ufotable lite” which may or may not have been intentional. It’s probably my least favorite out of the four Anime art styles since something looks off… but I think it’ll grow on me eventually.
I’m also a little skeptical of it being an adaptation of the stage play because… why? Why are they pushing for the stage play so hard? We got a live action movie that also tackles the story of the stage play using most of the same actors but tells the story in a different way, now there’s anime adaptation of the stage play using the same characters. Anyone in Japan that likes Touken Ranbu will have already watched the stage plays or will have planned to, so I don’t see the point of this, unless, like the live action movie, the anime also goes its own direction with the story, which will make it enjoyable for even people who watched the stage play already.
