What a horrible news! I hope that none got injured or dead.

Japan is some real turmoil right now.

I just hope that not to many people got hurt or otherwise and wish them the best.

Anytime I hear original artwork is lost or possibly lost, my heart hurts. Add the number of deaths and it hurts even more...

Hope this doesn't bode bad luck for the new Grendizer.

This is horrible. Art and other history destroyed, lives lost, there's no other way to really describe it.

Those who watched Insomniacs After School may recognize some of the places where the earthquake hit, particularly the Noto Peninsula.

It does! God, it does. I may actually cry. We can all only hope that people will be okay, and something, anything, can be salvaged.

I visited Noto peninsula back in 2017, including some places where the anime takes place and Wajima city. Seeing the damage and suffering in the area is heartbreaking. I hope people will recover from the shock of this tragedy and loss of loved ones.

A terrible way to start off the new year. This is a very tremendous loss.

Yeah, it definitely sucks that everyone but the pilot in the coast guard plane perished, but at least, amazingly, all the people in the airliner survived. I mean, the flames coming out from under that jet!

I really wished that I had gone out of my way to see the museum now. I looked at doing a daytrip from my accommodation in Kamata and realised it wasn't feasible. I was going to see if there was anything of note on the way to see and maybe stay the night somewhere, but I never got around to doing it. My understanding is that his family's business, Nagai Tailoring Shop (永井洋服店, they have a Yahoo! Shopping site here ), was literally down the road from the museum. I can only assume that's gone too.

Similar for me, I made it as far as Anamizu (the current rail terminus) last year after seeing Suara in Osaka the night before and didn't have time to find additional transport to Wajima (stayed in Kanazawa that evening, visited Kurobe gorge next day staying in Nagano overnight then Iida line and Shinkansen to Tokyo for Lisa Komine the following night).

Unfortunately the train service to Wajima ceased in 2001 and the train service to Takojima ceased in 2005.

Hoping that the Noto peninsula can be restored and the survivors recover.
