So I wasn't seeing things, they changed studios and not for the better. Sorry JC Staff, the one thing that elevated this from mediocrity isekai was the animation quality, this looks like a step down.

Yeah we are not gonna get the moments of Sakuga that season 1 got. So you will have to watch it for the slightly dark story tones among the more goofy characters. Though season 1 clipped alot of that darker material so season 2 might as well.
Its an odd series Tsukimichi. Because Alphapolis has show complete disregard for potential english audiences of the Light Novel. As they jealously guard their IP from the normal translation groups for LN's. And have not even attempted to test the waters themselves. Some fans consider it at the level of contempt for English audiences. That and the manga not garnering much fan attention in comparison to the now stalled web novel.
Still as one of those few manga fans of Tsukimichi, I am looking forward to season 2. Especially for more official takes on the story. That said I am worried that this will be a trigger for the manga to end soon.

While the fact that this is J.C. Staff making a two-cour does raise concerns over how stable it will be, S1 was not a sakuga fest by any means, and similarly, it's a bit dramatic to act like the anime will have a sudden drop in quality and have no good animation at all, specially when the core staff is the same.
The only major loss here is the fact that Yuji Suzuki, who was the action director for S1, died. But on the other hand, J.C. Staff means the presence of people like Kenichiro Aoki, so it's not gloom and doom at all.

The trailer and visuals look solid to me.
I'm excited for more Tsukimichi and Isekai hijinks! Especially with the new characters!

indeed hope also Yuji Takagi will be on it as he was one of the main animators of the first season at C2C and ironically he appear sometimes in J.C Staff's main works.
