I recently heard that Masami Obari's brother Takami is the head of New Japan Pro Wrestling. Quite the family he's got. Anyway the devil works hard, but Masami Obari and Shinichi Omata work harder.

Depends on how much budget they go, but it's sure not the first time Obari done stuff with Cygames.

A very Super Robot style title and logo for what looks to be a real robot show. I wonder if there's an in-universe reason for that.

Let alone having a very Super Robot title with Brave in its name... twice even!

Cygames' first Mecha show? Obari headlining it definitely sets some expectations.
I wonder which is the MC's unit at the end.

Super Robot Taisen? Wtf, no way this is a super robot anime with those designs. It's most likely a real robot anime and I'm all in if it is.

It's more about how many animators they can get who are experienced in Mecha animation. Masami Obari is one of the best at that, but I don't know if he will also be working as an animator on the show.

While the “budget” is important, it’s not necessarily what determines how much 2D mech animation there will be. A big factor is what staff they are able to recruit. Mechanical animation is a specific, technical skill possessed by a increasingly smaller pool of animators. Obari possibley has connections to such animators but it also depends on their availability. Part of the reason so much mech animation is done with 3d, other than the lack of experienced animators, has to do with practicality. It is more practical to pay more money to animate robots with CG than to wait for staff to become available.

also obari have his own small anime studio called G1-NEO that probably will help on it with his own connections in addition to cygames having a connection of animators to work with a decent schedule.
