I'm really happy about I Cannot Reach You, but I'm more excited about the Minato Shouji Coin Laundry drama season 2 that was announced alongside it
Edit: And now there's a different article for that lol

Don't want to sound to negative, but if ""boys life"" series are getting jailed in LA after the success of SasaMiya anime...I get a bit worried about the probability of actual BL adaptations.

Thought this was going to be an anime announcement for a second. Disappointing.

Why are BL moving to Live Action and away from anime?
There's so many live action BL nowadays and very little BL anime.I wish it was the opposite.

Traditionally, works aimed at women tend to have better success in live-action than anime in Japan. It's been a thing with shoujo and josei manga in general finding more success in live-action adaptions than anime for years. Not entirely sure if it's just women in Japan preferring live-action to anime or live-action is cheaper and gives a better return investment compared to animated works

Sources on that? LA is just cheaper and safer to produce.
I think it's only "successful" because there's no alternative. Fans want more content of their favorite series and can't be picky when the industry only offers them endless LAs.
I would've never watched Candy Color Paradox if it had an anime adaptation(no, short episode from 6 Lovers doesn't count).
Considering how shoujosei community cheered at almost every female-targeted anime getting announced recently, I think it's the opposite. If even the fans of het shoujosei are tired of LA, imagine the fatigue us BL fans feel at that point.

This one is kind of tough to adapt. Yamato is unquestionably better suited to live action (the manga never completely sells how gorgeous he's supposed to be), but Kakeru spends most panels looking like a (very cute) piece of asparagus with dot eyes. I feel like either way it would lose something.
I'm still very excited, though! The leads look cute, and the manga just hit a natural stopping point (well, a second one), so as long as this doesn't try to cram the entire thing into four episodes or something it should be great.

Just look at Kieta Hatsukoi adaptation. In the manga, MC made all sorts of grimaces. In the LA, he emotes. Sometimes.
