Oh now they decided to dub The 2nd half of “Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon season 4” , like they should’ve done that weeks ago!

The pre-order details for the Penguindrum movies Blu-Ray set on Right Stuf says it has an English dub, so why won't they stream that, too?

On the one hand I'm glad we're getting this out quickly but it's too bad the Penguindrum movies won't get a theatrical release in the US.

Glad both Penguindrum films will be available to stream in a couple days. Haven't watched the original anime since it was newer, but the ending theme ["DEAR FUTURE" by coaltar of the deepers] is still one of my favorite anime songs that I listen to every now and then. Even have the Himari Takakura figma in my collection. Always wanted a figma figure of Sanetoshi Watase too.

This would be a perfect opportunity for a fresh start at a Penguindrum dub. The TV series dub was one of Sentai’s first, and it was a rushed, sloppy effort with poor voice acting and lots of recasts. They should just ignore that and try to do something halfway decent. Sentai’s dubs still aren’t the best, but they’ve come a long way in 10 years.

I'm assuming it's probably still in production right now since the Blu-ray wont be out till July (giving them a couple months time whereas the streaming date is only a few days away). I'm obviously only spitballing based on how quiet and quick the announcement was that they had the films, but Sentai/Hidive might've only gotten the licence to them not very long ago especially with such a quick turnaround on streaming (when the films only just came out on Blu-ray in Japan back in December) |

While Penguindrum will likely have a lot of recasts, some of the cast don't even work any more, I wouldn't mind some people reprising their roles. Emily Neves did a solid job as did Jay Hickman(before Steven Foster recast him).

You think they would announce it about the premier before anime boston. This way more people could see it.

Didn't Steve Foster leave Penguindrum after the first cour? Which might've contributed to a lot of those mid-season cast changes? Lol |

I wasn’t aware the dub had so many casting changes! I tried the dub for 2 episodes and just couldn’t get into it. Penguindrum definitely deserved more love and care than it got dub wise. But you have a good point that it’s been years and the dub might be worth giving another shot. I’m just happy we’re finally getting the movies! |

Emily Neves and Monica Rial were both good in the TV series dub, so I hope they returned for the movies.
