That visual looks incredible! A snowy backdrop is not what I expected, but it sounds fun as well. Still a bit worried about the given the prospect of S2 and the movie releasing so close together, but the different directors eases me somewhat.

I hope GKIDS or a similar licensing group gets to release the Spy X Family film in theaters.

With the rise of poetic yet enertaining Shounen works like Spy Family, so very glad that the "My Hero Academia" formula of "testing the waters with a 13 Episode teaser and only make more if its successful" has finally taught Jump Comics to slow down and focus on quality over quantity, instead of churning out filler cluttered year-long-seasons just to fill a quota.
Much as I loved growing up getting to see more of Son Goku's adventures every week for 10 years as a boy from Dragonball to Dragonball Z during the 80's to 90's thanks to Toei Animation's almost industrial work ethics, it only worked because it was led by a Directors and Composers with a visual appreciation for Arthouse, Wuxia, Chambara (Samurai), Film Noir and even Spaghetti Western Cinema.
Now that Jump has passed the reins of future I.P's down to Artistically-Inclined studios who care about making beauty rather than meeting deadlines and the bottom line, slower-produced but visually poetic works of art like Spy Family and Demon Slayer will hopefully become the norm rather than the exception for the Shounen Action/Dramedies;
Thank goodness the last decade of quickly rushed and just-as-quickly-frogotten 12 Episode Harem/Action-Light-Novel Xeroxes thankfuly did not kill the genre.

I’m actually expecting Sony/CR to licence it for theaters since they’ve been getting more involved with theatrical releases not to mention they also streamed S1 of the show.

Also, it would be incredibly stupid for CR to let someone else handle the movie.
