I was thinking "who?" and then saw they're recent so that explains it.
Maybe they didn't realise what the workload would be like or something... Well, best of luck to them I guess, provided they left for valid reasons and not for causing issues.

It's a shame, but sadly some who race into vtubing and go dive in to agency applications dont realise its an actual job nor how demanding it can be.
Even with agency backing you need to be able to dedicate more than just the time between hitting "Go Live" and "Stop Streaming"

As an agency talent there are meetings with your manager, vocal lessons, dance lessons if you're an idol type, rehearsals for events. Plus video editing, managing our social accounts, promotional event prep, a set number of streams per week, collaborations inside the company, collaboration arrangements outside, meetings about merchandise, meetings with your manager to check and plan content (because yes, sometimes the answer to "can i stream/do this?" is no no matter how much you as an individual want it).

For most established ones there's also the issue of cover songs.
Original songs are different, often paid for by the agency, but for most cover songs, the paying for licensing rights, mixing, recording studio time if its needed etc actually comes out of the talent's pocket, not the agencies. That goes for small agencies and big ones, contrary to popular belief.

For some people its a massive shock to the system from how things work compared to an independent Vtuber

That was quick for two VTubers in the project to leave a few days since debut

Wait...Wait...Wait...

Plumarielle was interviewed recently by FalseEyeD and was really excited to debut, I wonder what happened. Also, Vtubing being demanding doesn't explain leaving a few days after debut instead of say a month or two after. Hopefully, it's not bad management.

This would be pretty unremarkable and absolutely not worth an article (tbh it still isn't...), if not for them putting a paid "Advertorial" onto ANN to create artificial buzz about 2 weeks prior. Which makes it kind of amusing.
In contrast, no mention of Pikamee retiring, who might be one of the most iconic and beloved VTubers overseas, at least outside of the biggest 3 agencies (Holo, Niji and VShojo).

PS: This is not criticism of ANN's VTuber coverage, since it is still mostly a site about anime/manga.
Just an amusing coincidence and something to consider when looking at some of those new agencies trying to establish themselves on the market out of nowhere with paid ads, while the big players grew the hard way over the course of many years.

I heard that apparently some vtubers can apply to multiple agencies so if they got accepted by a bigger one they could have left to prepare for another debut

Usually you can apply for more than one agency, however once you sign the contract, unless they agree to let you go along with a compensation from the bigger agency then its actually legally binding and includes non-compete clauses.
Those differ from agency to agency but can include a ban on continuing your indie self without permission.

Often they'll have a clause that states if you leave then you cannot join another agency for X period following contract termination. Its intended to prevent talent poaching
