I remember this hitting big but becoming critically reviled as it went along.
Me? I'm just waiting for them to dub Boarding School Juliet.

It's the only show ever where the last episode made me drop 2 points off its score, and I've been watching anime since 2000

I feel like HiDive at this point is going out of their way to not pick up Re:Creators.

Seriously, it's gotta be a problem with the rights or something because it seems so ripe for the picking compared to some of the other stuff they've rescued.

Are they? I've seen people mention that with Re:Creators a few times but as far as I can tell, Aniplex of America has never claimed to have the license. It's not listed on their website anywhere either, and they have titles dating back over a decade still on there.

According to the article, the dub was recorded nearly 2 years ago

I guess that's just awkward timing for the dub to finally be out on streaming now though I still wish they would address it at some point. But I just saw the name glancing through the cast list and I was like oh no.

I guess he didn't commit a truly heinous crime, such as "failing to stop a romantic partner from smoking" that justified recasting/redubbing his part.

It only took Genshin Impact like a week to fire their sex pest voice actor so I don't know why the anime industry is taking so long. If they need to delay the Vinland Saga dub, I think most people would be fine with that.
