A new (fake?) Holy Grail War? Gilgamesh seems like he's tired of being summoned but the new girl has his interest...and fighting Enkidu.
Wouldn't be a Grail War without an eclectic cast of characters.
And of course saving our protagonist (?) and the new Saber for the very end.

How do you miss the opportunity to air this on April 1, 2023? That's the 15th anniversary date of when it was originally released. And it is on a Saturday like the original scheduled release on Dec 31st. How do you fumble this when the Fate gods were helping you with this delay?

Narita's stories tend not to have protagonists so I wonder if that will stay the case, we even have Flat and Waver in here. It could get interesting.

Pretty sure the studio doing this is not responsible for localizing the visual novels.

Glad to see the aesthetic is sticking close to the manga and LN illustrations. They strike a nice balance between personality and simplicity that makes them probably my favorite Fate visuals.
Since this is just one special, it will presumably end up as essentially an advertisement for the source material, but it would be nice if they at least got through all the prologues (a fairly tall order, since they take up pretty much a whole LN on their own). Given the runtime, I doubt we'll get to see Saber and his Master do much of anything, which is a shame, since I really enjoy both of them.

Probably a backdoor pilot. iirc, Case Files was originally a one and done similar to this and that ended up getting a full run. Could maybe see something similar to this here but that's just me.

That would be cool, although it would still have to end on a cliffhanger, since the LNs are ongoing, and unlike Case Files, they don't break down into discrete arcs. Case Files was also nearing its ending when the anime came out, so they could have finished the plot if they'd greenlit more seasons (I'm guessing that was the idea behind skipping straight to the case that introduces its overarching antagonist).
