For those in the know, yes, this was the man behind the infamous Twinkle Nora Rock Me! OVA, which today is often considered one of the worst anime of all time because of its infamous segments that feature nothing more than key animation without the in-betweens, which Mikuriya personally directed.
That being said, though, the first Nora OVA (which Mikuriya also directed) that came before Twinkle is actually a pretty fun little story & shows that Twinkle was really more a case of a bad story being adapted poorly, and that while Mikuriya knew his way around the anime industry, he really needed the right staff to help him out. He was also the creator of Garaga, which ADV had released the OVA adaptation of in 2001. RIP |
