I heard Boogiepop and Others was one of the titles affected so I went and got that off my shopping list. I'm way behind on a lot of things...

To those wondering, this is common in all industries at all times of the year. The Fortune 50 i work for has damn near daily sku refreshes as Product refreshes or branding switches.

Previous fearmongering made it seem these titles would never get home releases again, glad that isn't the case.

It's worse they'll be cutting footage in release.

I suspected as much. I've noticed a lot of the old S.A.V.E. and Essentials releases are on deep discount or are just plain drying up in stock. I went ahead and ordered a few of the stragglers still around in case they just decide the effort isn't worth it and let it go quietly OOP.

Do you have anything to support this claim, or is this the usual crying wolf over imaginary censorship? We don't take kindly to anti-industry misinformation and lies around here.

To be honest going off their other comments they say a lot of incoherent stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if this was another one.

A few of the releases and re-releases currently showing as "No longer available" on RightStuf are fairly popular titles that were only from the past couple of years, and FUNi's titles tend to stay in print for a long time. I can't imagine that something like Nichijou or Star Blazers 2199 have actually expired, and I'm sure they'll be back with the new SKU listing.

So was Robert's Corner Anime Store exaggerating something again and all those Crunchyroll titles expiring will actually be back at some point?

Time will tell, but based on this statement that seems to be the case anyways.

I'm old enough to remember that whole mess over Azur Lane but people keep treating Robert's as a reliable source of insider info on the anime industry for some reason.

Anyone who has ever spent more than a day in retail understands this. Even a cashier is familiar with the fact and process that sometimes SKUs get replaced and you have a weird availability period on some products. Ever wonder why a product you buy regularly at the store suddenly is always out of stock only to suddenly be back again like nothing happened? Or why an item that scanned no problem last month the cashier now has to punch in numbers for or call to get a new code for? Or why you see that employee with a scanner just going up and down the aisles scanning barcodes and shelf tags? Like immortal1982 said, it's a daily occurrence in some businesses, just that regular consumers rarely think about or are aware of seeing.
